I did notice that if I leave Bluetooth on and do a soft-reset, the notification is gone when the phone comes back up after the reset. Maybe it's just when BT gets turned on originally?

Good news; following a Sprite backup wifi icon is functioning again. After several HR and innumerable soft resets I was backing up to do a reflash and miraculously it worked!!! Thanks everyone for confirming that it was my phone and not the rom.

A setting of 2 is for Internet Sharing, and I thought you were trying to get back to ActiveSync? If so try setting it to 0.

i've been running this ROM for months now and all of a sudden today the phone refuses to boot. it just hangs and won't go past the Touch Pro intro screen. any ideas on how i can fix this?

Do you have an SD card inserted? If so, try removing that first then soft resetting. If that fixes the problem then it could be a corrupt card. I had a similar issue but mine was hanging just after start-up. I was using a Today plug-in that was utilizing the card. Once the plug-in tried to load on a reset it would hang the phone. Not sure if this is going to help in your case...but worth a try.

no luck with that. can anyone tell me how to load a rom with the sd card or how to even get into bootloader if you can't connect to the computer?

i'm screwed here can't connect to the computer.

Hold power button, volume down and hit the soft reset button w/ stylis to load bootloader screen, I believe...

Extract the RUU_signed.nbh from the ROM and copy it to the root of your SD Card and rename it to raphimg.nbh. Then hold the volume down and power button at the same time, and then whilst holding those, press the reset button with your stylus. You can also find more info in this sticky.

yeah i loaded a new rom, but it appears the problem is my touch screen is broken. i have had the rainbow behind the screen for awhile and actually soft resetted before the boot problems because the touch screen was non responsive. got the new rom loaded but i can't get past the windows setup screen where you have to tap. it appears the touch screen is done. i guess i'm screwed till i can get a new phone. unless someone knows a way to get past the standard setup without touching.
