You need to add 1 more category to the list - "GENERAL"

I wanted to ask if I'm going to be "grandfathered" as "Halfway to VIP" but didn't want to put that in either specific thread

I am new!! please explain what is flash, cook and kitchen. Just got the TP wanted to see what could make it better.

Welcome to the Thread:
First thing you should do is to add which carrier you use - Sprint, Verizon or whatever
Now: FLASH - mean to change all programming info on your TP. Flashing will make your phone better...more memory, basically everything will be better.

Kitchen: This is what you use to build "your own personal ROM". Called a kitchen because you choose what goes into it.

Cook - The process of making your ROM after you have made your selections.

We recommend using your Stock phone for a while to learn it and also when you do "cook" a ROM you will notice the advantages of speed, etc.

Before you can actually do anything, you have to unlock the phone. There is a big thread on "UNLOCKING YOUR TP"

Your first answer here should be which carrier you are using....and if somebody is helpful to you, there's a button that says "THANKS" Hit that.
