Removing the card seemed to do the trick. But before you came online I switched OS to 193. Now I'm flashing back to 015 with no sd card installed

Edit 2: Why did the other cores work if that's the problem. I've always had the same SD card installed

I dont know. I had the exact same issue with mine. Just the way things are? Would be a good learning project for you to figure it out...

ONe thing to keep in mind, no change log from M/S may make little nuaiances like this impossible to figure out....

Sometimes you just need to roll with it....

I went from getting 4-7 locks in about 30 seconds, to getting 6-10 locks in about 12 seconds! I switched back and forth a couple times and it was very consistent for both. Meanwhile, my signal strength stayed the same, and Bob has already shown battery life is the same.

I encourage everyone on the Sprint radio to do some testing with GPS tool and see if you dont get the same results!

Also, I did try 21015 for most of the day, and honestly I didnt see any speed increase vs. 20954 (20954 has so far been easily the fastest build I've tried, and I've tried all of the 6.1 builds that Scott has made available in his kitchens).

I still feel that 20954 and 20931 are the two best builds, they each have things they do better, but are very close overall. I went back to 20954, didnt feel like spending the time setting up another rom and have good, fully set up backups for 931 and 954.

Yes, I agree about the radio. VZW Stock is always best for us. Disagree about the builds. I think 21015 is the fastest. Its all opinion no way we can really quantify this..../

Re: *21 Feb* UPD 15: SSK 1.5M *8* OS Kitchen incl WM6.5 Build 21159 and OS 21015 ROM

Hey Scott,

I cooked up a 21015 yesterday and this thing is solid. I didn't see much in appreciable speed difference from rev B, but heck, they are both solid, stable and awesome.

I am curious if anyone has had an issue with UC. I keep the file mostly the same and just put a colon in front of the apps that are already cooked in so they don't attempt a re-install. With this latest build, the UC aborted when the file wasn't in the specified location. My process, which may help out some folks new to UC is this:

Flash - w/o SD card
Hard Reset - w/o SD card
Once the reset is complete, I compare my SDConfig.txt with what is installed on the phone already
modify SDConfig to install my remaining apps
Hard Reset - WITH the SD config

I find that a consistent process helps to isolate issues

Love the Kitchen, the ROMS and fellowship. Life is GOOD!
.

The files you are looking for are in the Core Kitchen both Rev B and C. They are inthe SS_StartMenu_WinMo folder

They are in the CAB not raw files....

WHY??????? Are you going to fix that ugly *** OK button(please)?

I noted the boot time was faster too.

B2B theme is created with Rev C2 Ktichen. You can select it int he new core. Wotn say B2B but the kitchen screenshot on my site shows you exactly what I put in it so you can recreate the ROM and mod it thew way you want. Is that what you mean.

Oh yeah

Just a side note, why on earth would you back up contacts? Dont you use excahgne or outlook? Much better way. No corruption ever....

Synch phone with outlook, flash, synch new ROM with outlook

You may have to tell your back up app that you odnt want contacts backed up....

This is good for g-alarm & g-watch.

Both very good, and run stable... the only thing i have noticed, and it might just be me... but S2U2 sometimes messes with the alarm... again, it might just be my S2U2 settings.

Cabs - Updated 22 Feb at 2:30 PM
I will keep Special request Cabs Here; Once I get a spot on my page I will keep what I can posted there Or at least links to commonly requested apps and possibly an FAQ section.

3. Kitchen, not a CAB but an OEM Update. Update is S2U2 1.45. MUST DELETE OLD OEM for S2U2 FIRST!

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...44&postcount=5

I updated the OEM for S2U2. Havent tested it but.... Yeah, delete the old one first. Uses the same DSM and RGU.

Yeah, i flashed it this morning... and dude, this is sooo subjective, i want to preface this by saying you should totally check it out for yourself, and you be your own judge... you're the only one that can say exactly what your needs are... yada yada yada, you know, all that regular preamble stuff...

But... i dont know, for me 20931 just felt more stable... and ultimately i am willing to forgo speed in lieu of stability.
NOW, i'm not at all saying that 21015 was unstable... i'm just saying that for me and the apps i load and the settings i use, i just noticed less random system quirkiness and pauses, and more over all fluidity with 20931.

But again... if you have the time... i would definitely check it out and see if it's for you.

Hey guys i'm running into a problem when attempting to build an OS between step 3 "Creating ROM" and step 4 "Building ROM file <.nbh>. I'm getting the error:

"Some of files encountered inside project was not found:

...\SSK 1.5 Kitchen Core Rev C2\TOOLS\OS-new.nb"

I'm using the C2 kitchen with CE OS 21015. I have copied the ROM & SYS folders to the kitchen. I searched for the file "OS-new.nb" but I'm unable to locate it. I'm not sure if this file is created during this process or not.

The .nbh file does not create because of this error. Any help would be much appreciated.

Isnt that the error you get when your ROM is too large?
I think it is...

Try rebuilding and choose less options in buildOS.

Thats a nice way of saying you added to much Junk. The ROm limit is about 128 Megs. If you add mroe than that in files counting the OS you will get that error. Try selecting less and using UC to install apps instead of OEM's.

Scott, thanks for the quick reply. I'd have to admit I was going heavy with the oem apps and utils. You indicate I can install them later with "UC". What does that mean exactly? Are you referring to just running the cab file from my sd card after the rom has been built or is there another way? Sorry for the noob questions, this is my first "real" phone.

Re: *21 Feb* UPD 15: SSK 1.5M *8* OS Kitchen inc WM6.5 Build 21159 and OS 21015 ROM -

Ever since the C kitchen messed up my phone I have little annoying problems.

I finally got it running again by installing the Mighty ROM but then I decided to flash back to a ROM from the B kitchen. I flashed back to a ROM running 20931 with all my normal selections including Arcsoft.

That seemed to go fine, but now my MMS isn't working & it always worked just fine before. My SMS send/receive just fine, but when I try to send a pic by MMS it says "originator address not found"

Does anybody know how to fix this?? I checked all my EPST settings & everything seems to be set correctly??

Quick Question:
I'm trying to change to the 24mb Dynamic page pool I like.
What's the proper string to search for? It's being difficult for me.

Tekstep,

Check this out... everything, EVERYTHING, you wanted to know about user customization.

I must have dodged that bullet because I load Opera with UC instead of cooking it in. That way I can update it on the fly if needed.
