scott, imagine my surprise after i decided to take the plunge to cook my own rom with your kitchen! all i cay say is wow! thanks a million for all the hard work that you put into making cooking so easy!

i do have a stupid question: do i do *228 option 1 after flashing? thanks in advance.

It's a good idea if you just "Unlocked" or if you just applied the GPS fix. But, for normal flasing of ROM's... No

After flashing, you do NOT need to hit *228.
If you do a "clear storage" you will have to do *228
If you do a hard reset using the thumb button and soft reset button instead of "clear storage" then you don't have to do *228 EVER

Do a speed check on that...last time I tested it, I was getting capped at the bluetooth 1Mbps...where EVDO Rev. A can go higher. Was 1.5Mbps faster over USB. I thought BT 2.x spec was faster than that but I guess not...or maybe the DUN protocol can't use those speeds?

Anyhow, that is just what I noticed originally, on stock using VZAM.
