I've been trying to duplicate the problem and have not succeeded.

I never look at sigs. No one takes the time to update them.

Thats a good thing!

Another quick and dirty method..... just copy over a wallpaper.jpg to the windows folder. Make sure its the correct size. Reboot phone

Sorry for short answer... Going to work now...

Once thats done, you will want to name the file "Wallpaper" (withouot the quotes).
Explore to the windows directory on your phone and find the GFX folder.
Replace the file called Wallpaper that is already there with the one you just created (copy and paste method will work with no problem) and then soft reset and you should be golden.

let me know if this helps.

Didint I say the exact same thing? Except I forgot the GFX folder. Are you sure it goes to GFX? let me look at the initflashfiles.....

Yep you are right. I missed the GFX folder.. My bad!

Ok, I reflashed last night using 21015 SYS with 21018 XIP by Former and cooked it with SSK Kitchen C2. I had to set PP to 9.5 megs rather than 6-8 (which is what I normally use). It was locking up on me at < 9 Megs... but since I've changed the PP to 9.5 Meg the ROM has been solid. I did lose the 1 Meg worth of free RAM but I'm going to tone down the file system cache down to 1MB from 2MB to gain the lost memory.

So far i had no issues, stable, I've got a lot of stuff running, and they all seem to play nicely.

I also installed TouchResponse for heptic feed back on screen touch, and it's working very nicely.. Also seem to have pretty good battery life... I'm down 10% since 7, and I've been Bluetooth Tethering...

I know the GPS works because i've done this combo before... but I'll try again during lunch... Keep ya'll posted.:headbang:

Wonder if GPS issues lay in the XIP. My OEM is not the same as all others for GPS.....

I had GPS issue though with 21015.... VZ NBavigator wont run. It just quits to desktop every time. yeah, not a real GPS app but...... You feel me?

BUt thats all in the past now..... See next post!

Sprint....

And save almost $1,000 a year... AFTER THE concellation fees we will have to pay.

We did a side by siode of plans.... For what we got on VZW for TWO LINES.... is less than HALF for the exact same plan on Sprint with three times the minutes! (unlimited data and texting on both)

VZW minutes shared - 750, no VZ Nav or anything special.... $220 a month
SPRInt 1500 minutes - unlimited everything, TV Nav, Radio, etc... $115 a month.....

Ummmmm Yah, By By VZW! Hello Sprint!

Oddly enough, I even get better signal with Sprint!

scrosler i know this is gonna sound stupid but what is the difference in arcsoft between your builds? a little background, with one of your builds when i get a text and my phone is off, the time of the message is when it was actually sent on another build the time is shown as when i turned my phone on and receive the message. any way to change it so i get the time as when the message was sent instead of received?

All versions of arcsoft do basically the same thing. I have used a bunch of different versions starting way back when the xv6800 first came out.

Really the only difference I have ever seen between any of the versions is the earlier versions had the sending limit set to 350 & that was the highest setting (you could change it in regedit however)

The newer versions are set at 500.

Recently, my MMS stopped working (SMS worked fine) & I spent a week trying to figure out WTF was wrong. All the reg settings where correct & all the Arcsoft server settings where fine also but I got an error every single time I tried to send an MMS.

At the same time, I was having all kinds of trouble trying to get WMwifirouter working also (it's always worked perfectly for me in the past). I just reflashed my phone ROM for a different reason & used CE 20764 because I had never tried it before & now all of a sudden both my MMS & WMwifirouter work just fine without any tweaking whatever...........

Not to stay OT but I was looking at that yesterday. I pay 300 with VZW and would pay just under 150 for the same plus more minutes on Sprint.

I am really worried about the reception though.

I might jump ship anyway cause it is soooo attractive financially but will probably wait for my contract to end in September unless the pro 2 comes out for Sprint before than ;)
