Battery life rocks.
Thanks for all your hard work.

I haven't used 21028, still on 1.5 20931.

But every single report I read talked about how fast that build was, and no one complained about any stability issues, just a few bugs that I believe Scott said were fixable.

So I would be VERY interested in seeing that build as an option in the final 1.6 release.

I'm going to be completely honest with you. 20931 is my go to build, if things go wrong, and I need stability immediately. With that in mind, I have not reverted back to 20931 in 3 weeks. I'm sure you realize that even if 20931 is ported over, it won't be supported long, as change is inevitable.

Not to answer for Scott, but he typically keeps 8 builds readily available for each kitchen, and 3 "pre-built" ROMS going.

20764 and 20771 to be honest are the fastest two i have used. That is just my opinion but i think these two are the way to go. Come on guys Scott needs some feedback lets give it to him.

Check your pm and see what you think.
I'm going to keep editing this post with updates tonight, won't start a new post til tomorrow morning.

**EDIT** Killer splash screen. Seriously, its awesome!

Post Flash Results
1. Active stink popped up during the screen alignment. I rebooted and disconnected from PC
2. after alignment, clicked next at the date time screen, it didn't change state, but continued to Customization anyway.
3. I broke my golden rule, got so excited I didn't check sdconfig.txt.(hold) and UC ran immediately. This probably explains active sync^

Stuff that works:
SMS works without any user intervention
UC took care of all accounts. and synced with exchange and gmail immediately with no problems
I called and checked my voicemail... no problems... no user intervention
*228 works (didn't need to, just tested)
I've run through the phone semi-thoroughly and so far so good.

Stuff that don't work:

I can't find remote desktop on this build either.
From System Status, click on EV... connectivity balloon pops up, saying Sprint> <connected

All fixable as we discussed in PM. Thanks for noting that.

Not sure if that helps any. Thanks for all of the work Scott.

I plan on it... I have a build I know you have not used yet ;c) And its fast. 21018 on 21038 ;c) Fast. 20764 and 20931 are very fast too.

Your never stuck. You can always cook your own with my sys file collection on my site.

I will be releasing a couple ROM's now that i see that the universal carrier is working "OK" Not needing to do two or three carrieres makes life alot easier for me. I can concentrate on creativity instead of filling the masses.

Thiking of three new ROM's for the new kitchen. 5 CE OS's. Dumping the beta WM6.5 builds. Just got the latest one from Conflipper. Have not touched it yet.

Agreed. I am really looking for carrier type issues. I put the ROM base on a slower set up so stability will not be an issue. Anything that occurs wrong will be more than likely OEM / Kitchen created. Hope that explains why I reverted. I will put up new CE OS's come final RMO build. Got about three more that have not been released yet ;c) All on the 21018 XIP. Nice Builds.

Maybe a similiar ROM for each build so you can directly compare speeds.

Anyways, working at home today. Need to prep for flood. Wont be on much u ntil later tonight.

I can't seem to find this anywhere, so if you are bored and know the answer:

<guid type= "p"> is this specific for "programs" ?
<guid type= "i"> is this specific for "language" ?

I am correlating them by looking at the associated .dsm and based my theory on this. I do know how to crash BuildOS by not paying close attention to editing.

p points to the dsm file which is loacted in the program folder,
i points to the dsm file(s) that points to all the support files for the build of the program you are installing.

Language or VGA/QVGA/WVGA for the app or VGA/QVGA/WVGA for the Language can all have the DSMs for a particular program.

cool, and thanks. I nearly PM'd you with this question, but I figured I'd leave it open to the forum. Today I successfully pulled \remotedesktopmobile out of build 20931 and incorporated into the beta. I can't believe how quickly this stuff can be learned if you apply yourself.

**EDIT** speaking of what you made... ssk 1.5 is now outdated! You might have to roll with an elongated SSK and drop the kitchen version!

In need of more ram for my VZW TP I dropped GC Rom whom I followed over form xda and updated to ssk 1.5 B2B kitchen. As a new guy here there is a lot to read and I am trying. I find it hard to following the build talks here but I will keen reading and learing. I went with 21015 bld blindly and off the recommendation of post #1. I am sure I will find a faq somewhere but for a new person this is an overload and I am a sys tech eng :-). I am happy to have some much free ram!!!

Questtion and I did see Scott's answer in a searching on post #1405. I spent all weekend getting the device up on SSK and ready for work this week. The curtain I guess you call it that comes up when a call is connected does not work for me. I do a lot of conference calls and I like to go straight to mute on connect.

I did not know guys what a curtain was so call it newbie error when I cooked my kitchen. Again I will look for a faq for dumbies here. He mentioned that it would be better to rebuild the rom. I just do not have that time now. He mentioned there are more cabs (dailers) in a ssk folder can any one of these help my case to remove the curtain?

If not any suggestions outside of rebuilding would be appreicated?

THX!!!

I feel for you dude, I really do. One thing you might not know, but this thread actually had closer to 4500 posts total. A ton of stuff was deleted. Now as advice goes:

If you would like, I can send you a screen shot of what my preferences are in the buildOS for 21015. I don't like a bunch of extras, such as slide to unlock or the curtains either. I like my roms clean, simple and fast. anything I want to add and remove, I do it after flashing. PM me if you are interested.

I do have a written procedure for flashing that I will give you in a PM. It does have screen shots, but its not custom to 21015. Each build and kitchen have different selectable options.

you can flash and be functional in 20 minutes once you get the hang of it.

FARGO NEWS UPDATE!!!!
Associated Press/AP Online

Fargo city administrator Pat Zavoral estimated the city of some 90,000 residents was about 40 percent protected as of Monday.
Flood stage at Fargo is 18 feet, and the National Weather Service said the Red River had reached 25.3 feet Monday morning. The weather service said the river is expected to crest in Fargo early Friday at around 40 feet - a record. Officials said the dike protecting downtown Fargo was being raised to about 43 feet and an emergency levee south of the city was being completed.

OK...dumb newbie question. I asked this in a PM to someone but want to know feedback from others...

When I built my first kitchen this weekend I had no idea what the page pool window was nor the window that popped up. So I just clicked closed on it during that part of the cooking. My hope was that I was getting the 9mb page pool posted on ssk site for the B2B. What did I mess up by closing this window and NOT selecting the rom (which I did not know at that time)?

Pls...

If you just closed the pagepool window, you did no damage. By closing it, you accepted the default pagepool Scott had chosen for the ROM. I can't say what it is, for some ROMS, he chose 6, others 9, and even 12 for 1 I think.

There is another step to flashing that makes the overall process a breeze, it's called UC. On that site I gave you (keep it to yourself) there is a link to UC documentation on the left side menu. The color scheme is terrible, but I couldn't figure out how to change that on the page..... I digress... find it and read it.

**EDIT** The only thing I should add, and didn't... When the page pool tool launches, It will always look for the .nbh in the last kitchen it used. Example
you cook with:
\ssk 1.5 kitchen core rev c2\ruu\scrosler.nbh
You cook again with:
\ssk 1.6

the page pool utility will browse to 1.5, not 1.6.... It's critical to get the path right!

This may be a possible issue, so I'd appreciate feedback from the 1.6 beta testers.

Issue:
Slide out keyboard freezes phone:

When:
Seems to happen mainly when an application is launched like SMS. I open the keyboard to reply, and the screen freezes, so do all hard keys and soft keys. Phone requires a soft reset to use.

This also happened to me with Remote Desktop Mobile.

I notice a battery drain like there's no tomorrow. I was at 70 percent and went all the way dead in 6 hours. Changed roms and tested same thing running nothing different and my phone is at 90 percent after 7 and a half hours later from being pulled from charger . Don't know whats causing it but i cant use it as a daily rom right now.

I can't remember of any ROM causing a battery drain. It's probably some setting. Check to make sure that you don't have battery on Max brightness, bluetooth isn't always on, data and WiFi aren't always on. Those are items that usually cause the battery to drain quicker than normal.

Scott,
If you read this, please let us know your status....evacuated, no power, or just cleaning up from the flood. We're concerned.

Hey Bob, I just communicated with Scott, he is fine as of now, so is his property. The water is still rising though.

I had checked everything to begin with made sure nothing was running in the background wifi bluetooth beam everything i turn off trust me when i say nothing was on at that time. And yes i hard reset the phone after flashing. But it just ate up the battery just weird i mean weird never had this problem with any roms. Still doing this . But running an older rom from SSK and all good just scared to go back to that rom.
