Yeah your right there was an outage but without it would have not known about my bill. But i almost started sending bad PM to Scott. But he likes stuff like that. Also how is the !.6 build coming out Scott if you are reading. Just eager like a lil girl.

Can somebody take a peek and see if Remote Desktop shows up under start/programs?

this is a 1.6 beta question.

If it isn't there, what is the .exe name?

Well,

I searched through a lot of threads before breaking down and posting on here. I have not been able to find any posts on the same issue though.

I tried Scott's WM 6.5 beta build when he first put it up, and it loaded fine. It was not the smoothest, but it would run. But every once in a while, when I would reboot, it would hang on the first startup screen that includes the radio version, etc.. I tried removing the SD card, taking out the battery...Nothing works except the following:

1. Reset with stylus 3-20 times.
2 Reset another 3-20 times...but this time do it really fast.
3. Reset another 3-20 times but now do it slow.
4. Take out the battery.
5. Take out the SD card.
6. Repeat steps 1-5.
7. Scratch head.
8. Search online for similar issue while going through steps 1-7.
9. Face East and try steps 1-7.
9. Face North and try steps 1-7.
10. Try to reason with phone.
11. Try to bribe phone to boot.
12. Somewhere between steps 1-11 it boots finally because it feels like it.

I've left the battery out for a while. I've left the SD card out for a while. Sometimes, it will boot on the first go, just to tease me. When I hard reset, it will work for a little while, then start hanging on boot again.

I tried JD's 6.5 ROM recently, and it does the same thing. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks!

So you are able to flash to a different ROM but each ROM is freezing during boot-up?

I've read that some people have fixed 6.5, but as far as I'm concerned it isn't stable enough for day to day use. I would highly recommend that you flash with another version out of Scott's kitchen. If you need help on how to cook your own rom, I am willin g to help. PM me. If you don't want a lot of help, but just want something that works fine then follow this link.

Pick the build 20764 that is specific to your carrier.

Yes...But it's only the 6.5 ones that have the issue. It runs fine once the stars align and it finally boots. Does hang up or anything.

Yeah, I hear ya...I love Scott's ROMs....I am going to load it back now. Thanks for the offer of help...

And if anyone has seen this issue, I would love to know I am not the only one. If it's a matter of getting a more stable version of 6.5, then I guess I will have to wait...

I didn't like 6.5 at all, only used it about an hour and moved on. Nothing to do With Scott, it was 6.5 in general.

This 1.6 final version Scott is working well i like the new Manilla you added and how fast its running the Tf3d. Nice touch on the Tf2d option in the kitchen. And with a 78mb free on startup how can we go wrong. Sorry guys nothing has been going on this weekend so i have gone crazy and im pretending i have a new SSK rom and im reviewing it. I need my food.

Well i just got off the phone with Scott and he has confirmed with me that there will be a new rom before 2010 so don't worry. JK. Hang there it takes time.

i am having this HUUUGE issue runnign c2 kitchen and 21015. i have done everything and it keeps saying: Tat here to launch TouchFlo, but then it tries to launch and it just goes back to the tap message. i have done everything by the book and checked off the proper features (in fact I copied scott's image off his webpage of the B2B and it still does this...i've also done a reset quite a few times....

Club, I thought you had mentioned TF3D in this thread before, so I checked your previous posts. Turns out like 10 of your 21 posts are TF3D related. According to your history, you only have touch flow problems when you cook your own rom in the kitchen, but when you use one of Scotts pre-built roms you are fine. Please confirm this is correct.

yes sir! i used the r4r rom, but i don't like it very much. it's only when i cook my own rom and i follow the directions word for word and this still happens...

Update: 1.6 Final near..... one last beta test
 
Just need one last beta test for carrier compatibility. This is the Generic carrier ROM I told you about.

I rebuilt the entire kitchen again, used 90% GSM Manila OEM's from HTC. Used 20764 as CE OS and based it on a Sprint ROM that I cleaned myself. This kitchen is really built by me ;c)

Right now the test ROM is uploading. Pretty Plain Jane due to its final beta status. Uses standard HTC GSM black Manila. Nothing special on this beta. Want people to test out functionality and report back. Looking for data connectivity, GPS, gernal carrier stuff like ## and ** codes.

I will post a link as soon as the file finishes uploading. About 1 hour from now.

Thanks to all who test this AND report back. Once it is deemed stable and the bug have been verified fixed I will relase the kitchen and some CE OS's for it. I plan on redoing all the CE OS's to accomodate the core kitchen upgrae and structure change.

I did procure a TP2 Manila and it is incredible. The Weather tab does not work though. It just crashes it. I will leave it int he kitchen for anyone that wants to see what it looks like. If I can find a fix maybe I can base the final ROM on it.

Hey Scott, maybe is something particular with the kitchen?

I have been using TP2 since this morning with Juicy's rom and all the tabs work fine including weather and weather updates.

The one thing that doesn't work properly and seems to be a general issue is that you can't send SMS through the built in TP2 interface. It gives a message saying the SIM card is not present and it aborts the message.

I have a random issue. I have the vibrate notification for email set and every so often, it keeps vibrating until I either open the email or reboot the TP. Anyone else see this issue?

SSK 1.6 Final Beta CE OS 20764 Build 20764.1.4.3. Same Build as latest GSM ROM and Latest Sprint Diamond ROM. This is a beta test for the final edition of SSK 1.6. Feedback given here will be incorporated or noted for the final release.

ROM has randmom scattering of utilities. Not a loaded ROM but not stipped either.

Gerneic carrier this time. Please test data and ##, ** codes. I am doubting that they will work properly but would like to know what carriers do what.

In the My Documents folder you will find an SSK folder with the follwing essentials:
MMS Folder with MMS Cabs for Sprint, Verizon, and Alltel. Please test accordingly. They are Caulkins cabs so I am sure they will work fine.

In the SSK folder there is a cab called Sprint Provsioning. This CAB will activate the "Update Profile / Update PRL" I cons for Sprint Users in the control panel. All other users ignore those icons and CAB.

Page pool is set to 6. Recoemnd large memory phones use 12 or 16. I am running the same ROM on 16 on my diamond and it is very smooth.

Post Flash Results
1. Active stink popped up during the screen alignment. I rebooted and disconnected from PC
2. after alignment, clicked next at the date time screen, it didn't change state, but continued to Customization anyway.
3. I broke my golden rule, got so excited I didn't check sdconfig.txt.(hold) and UC ran immediately. This probably explains active sync^

Stuff that works:
SMS works without any user intervention
UC took care of all accounts. and synced with exchange and gmail immediately with no problems
I called and checked my voicemail... no problems... no user intervention
*228 works (didn't need to, just tested)
I've run through the phone semi-thoroughly and so far so good.

Stuff that don't work:

I can't find remote desktop on this build either.
From System Status, click on EV... connectivity balloon pops up, saying Sprint> <connected

It wasn't in the ROM that I burned with the kitchen. However, I vaguely remember that it was an option in the kitchen that I might not have applied. I'll take a look when I get home tomorrow nite.

when i click on the bars on top its says verizon wireless and then sprint connected. When i go to settings connections manage existing connection i see sprint and data network. HUH

FYI, I just wanted to post how fast the 1.6 beta (not final beta) was. That thing screamed. Going with the final beta has been slower. Plus, my battery life has been fantastic. Almost double the life of any other ROM I have used. It doesn't seem likely, but it would be nice to see more development with this ROM.

I agree with porthole. The 1.6 beta that was released on Friday is the best ROM I have used on my TP. Are you going to continue on the progress with the 21028 path, or are we stuck using the 20764 ROM?
