Today (Saturday) should be as bad as it gets for Scott and the rest of the Fargonians. He said they were pushing to get the levy up to 44 feet, in anticipation of 43 feet crest. He was moving stuff upstairs around noon on Friday when I spoke with him on IM.

Is there a reason I can't change the start icon bar your ROMs Scott? I can change all of them but the start and not sure why.

I decided to load the B2B Rom late last night and am just now setting things up. I was using one of Scott's earlier roms (VZ3??), but wanted to see what the newer ones were like.

A couple of questions:
1) Pie 6 Beta - no matter what options I choose the text is way too small. I can barely read it even with system font turned up and pie at largest. Is there a way to make the text larger with this beta?

2) Before I load too many apps on this rom, and without reading through over 100 pages here, is there a preferred rom over the B2B, or is this a pretty good one for now?

Thanks for any help.

3 PM Sat. (News Report) They think that the river may have crested. They are using Predator drones to keep an eye on the sandbags to detect any breeches early. They do expect the level to remain in the 40 ft range for about a week. So although it won't go higher, they still aren't out of the woods.

does anybody know how I can get the curtain feature for the phone without flashing a new ROM? i like the r4r, but it has no curtain.

ALSO, MY GPS IS NOT WORKING ANYMORE after recent reflash:
location setting is on
quick gps works
cannot pick up htc gps using cold start and chip 7500 settings. live search does not work and using com4 for all settings. thanks.

Try reinstalling the GPS Fix from bored, I had the same problem when I reflashed to the TP2 Manilla and had to reinstall the GPS fix.

Did you install both GPS tools in the kitchen? I found that you have to put these in the ROM for GPS to work.
EDIT: Also, com settings shouldnt matter with Scott's newer stuff...

I unlike the others am assuming you flashed a pre-built rom, and didn't cook it up in a kitchen right?

I read some advice from bored on an obscure post somewhere that on occasion it can take up to 10 minutes to pick up satellites on the first try (after flashing). I'd recommend trying it outside in the open and see if you have any satellites used (not fixed). If that is the case, then the bored gps fix is working, it will just take time to get a lock. after the first success, its quick after that.

I flashed one of Scott's first stable TP ROMS on 12/26/2008. Shortly afterwards I added Bored's GPS fix. I disable Touch Flo and run the latest SPB Mobile Shell. Everything is working very nicely. After flashing I need about 4 hours to install all my apps so I don't upgrade unless I'm pretty sure its going to be smoother, faster, etc. My GPS locks in 10 seconds - am I one of the lucky ones? :) . The whole kitchen approach scares me a bit, back on my PPC-6700 I once managed to create a frankenrom that locked up at the worst times.

I have 2 questions: 1. Should I bother upgrading at all. 2. If so, can anyone recommend a super clean ROM with VC, bored's GPS, latest Opera (don't know why I ask that as mini is my default browser).

Perhaps I shouldn't worry about using the kitchen as long as I keep it simple?

Thanks
