No lag at all.....

NONE. I swear.... NONE!

It works like you would not beleive. Well, with TOM TOM 7 and live search.

I did start experimenting today with OCN2008 and noted that ti loagged about maybe 100 feet behind at some points....

But the other two apps are solid.

But I guess if that you consider the fact I never used OCN2008 before and not sure what its initial lag looks like then.... Yeah... I still think I have no lag at all.

I wonder if I can make a video for this somewho? Maybe I di have lag and dont realize it? But man, I never had such accuracy before.... Vouge was always way off, titan was good. this thing is great.

Anways, if you can help me quantify what I see that owuld be cool. I want to know if this lag is perceptual or not for me. BUt for now I see no lag at all. And that was on three of them....

FYI, take a chill pill because I wasn't "freakin" on you. That said, it does state exactly what my phone and carrier is so the question was kind of out of place. Also, I was just clarifying it to you and letting you know how it was working with me. There are some stuff in the thread about this tweak that at first suggest it only works for cross carrier phones which is why I said what I did. Wasn't meant to be anything bad towards you. Someone seems a bit sensitive.

Honestly, I tried EVERY SINGLE method on the Internet regarding the GPS lag on my Sprint Touch Pro, none of them works, none of the app shows a difference what-so-ever, even with different radios and ROMs!

HTC has to fix it, my friend's Fuze has less than 1 second of lag where I have at least 2 to 3 seconds lag under same app. My theory is that disabling the CDMA's FM part screwed up the GPS somehow.

As if the video performance isn't enough already, and I paid $400 for it? Geez HTC, come on...

Yes, very sensitive. Im a sensitive guy. Chics dig that big time! Does that make me bad? Am I still a worthy in your eyes know that you know I am very sensitive?

But anyways. Thanks for claryfing! I now see what you are saying now that you actually expalined what you meant.... Although, I am sure you were short on time you could have just said that to begin with. But hey, does it really matter? I guess only to me and not so much yourself?

BTW: Sorry I didint see your phone ver on the pers info... You may not have known this before but not everyone keeps that up to date. Kudos to you! You did a great job on that!

Thats interesting... The fuze is GSM, less lag.

I see no to little lag and we have differnt chips and processors, memory, etc. Isint the GPS integrated on the main processor or is it somewhere else?

Tearing down my pro now to look at the guts. Post is in forum if you want to see what an XV6850 looks like.

From what I know, the GPS, the FM and the Bluetooth is in the same chip, not the processor.

Well then it would stand to reason that we on the XV6850 dont have the FM CHIP at all I was told... Then we must have a differnt GPS too then? Differnt rev of the chip.

Maybe thats why I see no lag? Possibility here? This is got me thiking....

One person said he saw lag on his 6850 but... Welll... I dont.

Thing is, nobody can confirm if the VZW's TP has a different gut than the rest of the CDMA world (except RAM size and keyboard).

I remember there was a post about those three things are in the same physical chip. Then again, if VZW decided to order something without FM, just like the rest of the CDMA world, HTC has to get a different chip, if not, a different design and that involves a lot of redesigning, this and that, which can be costly.

From a business stand point, minimum modification (GSM radio replaced by CDMA counter-parts) and left the rest core hardware in uniform, and leave the customization in the software part makes more sense than go with the hardware route.

My theory was, by disabling the FM radio, which is part of the GPS and BT chip, it somehow affected the performance. However it is possible that HTC know this issue, and quietly and secretly worked out with the manufacturer with that chip, with minimum change and quietly replaced them in the newer batch of phones.
