+Feb 5+ *SSK 1.2 Stable* {CE OS 21109} Kitchen and ROM - Page 120

I posted this before in GC's ROM thread, but never got an answer or a fix. Anyway, I switched to Scott's Kitchen (and tried others) and get the same issue as described below. As this might be related to the Bluetooth issue or to the OS version, I thought I would post it here in hope of a resolution (or that it works with a different CE OS)

I'm probably the only person in the world that uses JetCet printing, but with this ROM it does not seem to connect to a bluetooth printer. Even without a BT printer you can test it by starting the program, clicking on the "Add Bluetooth Printer" icon then clicking "Select to search". When it works, it will actually try and find a printer and there will be a delay while it goes out and searches. The results I get (not working) is that it instantly comes back with "Select to restart search" without even attempting to search. It does work with the shipped Verizon ROM.

I tried this with different versions of JetCet CABs and OEMs, including the latest from the manufacturers site, but get the same results as above, leading me to think its the ROM not the software....

Note I DID NOT try the 1.4 ROM yet (waiting for the 1.4 or 1.5 kitchen) so if someone running the 1.4 ROM with or without the new bluetooth fixes it can test it with JetCet it may already be working....

I've tried several benchmarking applications and my favorite by far is the benchmarking suite in SK Tools.

If you download the trial version (some features are limited but there is no time limit on using them), it has the full benchmarking suite 'unlocked' for unlimited use, and tests things like the CPU's speed, bitmap rendering speed, internal storage read and right, and storage card read and write speeds.

I also use VS Benchmark which is free, and measures many of the same things, but looks nicer doing it

I saw a gain in performance from VZN 3.0 to SSK 1.2 on VS Benchmark.

So... when all is said and done we will have a 20764 OS and XIP? Scott you feel that 20764 is more stable than 21109? I do tend to agree there... VZN 3.0 was 20764 right? I definitely felt that rom was solid as a rock. I've had a few random lock ups on SSK 1.2.

Noting in 1.4 will fix that. Not that I know of anyways.

I will try to figure it out on next beta. Maybe even leave the apps alone from OEM. Well see.

If you want to try this VSBenchmark, here's a link to a thread that did benchmark testing on a variety of ROMS (including your 1.4)..you might find some other info on the other pages...i just noticed this one

One suggestion I might make to everyone who uses the Animated theme and is experiencing sluggishness:

Use DiamondTweak, look under the TouchFLO 3D heading, and change Graphic Fluidity to High

Try to attach again....

I looked in the thread and it was interesting. My ROM did good against all of them. Honestly, they are all about the same at this point.

I will bench SSK 1.2 vs 1.5 Beta vs Stock.

It seems like that one is unreliable...regedts majorly impacting results...Stock ROMs are beating custom ones...etc...

I was going to wait a while before I started flashing my HTC pro (just replaced an xv6800) but after going through all 120 pages on this post i decided what the heck!

I started with your 1.2 deluxe and have now installed the 1.4 B4, all i can say is this is very nice work, and thank you for keeping up the support on this. I cann give you further troubleshooting for I came in late in to this and most here have pinted out the issues I have been experiencing.

I was cooking my own ROMs back when I had the apache but have been away for a while from this scene, was actually using DCD's ROMs on the XV6800 and did not play with anything else.

I would like to get back into cooking ROMs for the PRO, so any info or tutorials you guys can point me to or include in the kitchen would be very much apreciated.
