How can I modify the menu that appears in the buildOS phase of your kitchen? If I wanted to modify other things like default windows settings, is it just a matter of finding and modifying the right text file somewhere in the kitchen? |

No kitchens are not built of texct files.... They are built of RGU's XML's and PROVXMLS (which are just XML's) but they can be READ in a text editor. So yeah, your right, but no, your wrong. Ahahaha Did I confuse or make better? Hit the thanks button when I help ;c) |

Wast of time..... Just flash again now... When you flash originally from phone in A/S mode it just needs A/S to get to bootloader. Make sense? Once you get to the tricolor screen you can connect to USB and flash without issue. Doing this method also custs about 30 seconds off flashing time. Yeah, I know.. Not a big deal to you but I flash anywhere from 3 to 10 times in a day every day..... 30 seconds adds up ;c) Im going to make a video one day of hard rest htingy.... It works but you have to practice. The DPAD is bidirectional up and down.... Menainig I think it has two phases so you kinda have to press a bit harder than normal.. Sound crazy? I think so too but I know it works ;c) |

Done son! Added the buit about hard flash near download links... Not that anyone one will look..... Everyone using my ROM knows my website by now! Emphasised the features of SSK Online in larger font and moved it to a more conspicous location. Last edited by scrosler; 01-25-2009 at 01:26 AM. |

When buildOS launches I want to add more apps to the list of whats going to go into the ROM. right, so say for example the default font size in the screen settings. If I want that to default to another setting, I would have to find and modify a file somewhere in the kitchen ... or are some windows settings built/compiled into the base CE OS Could I also modify windows settings by having registry values written/changed during the first boot customizations process? |

This kitchen was desinged for ease ofuse for the average user. They are loving it. What you want is something a bit more "powerful" and of course "complicated." Its all prespective though! I would recomend you just make a cab of the edits and include that in the SD AutoRUN. MUCH MUCH MUCH simplier... Along the lines of what i was trying to do... SSK Stands for Scott's Simple Kitchen You also shoud google up some terminology... I will get you some links... But the bUild OS screen youa re reffering to is called the Selection Screen. You want to add more selctions, right? More games, more utilties, etc, right? This kitchen ius configurable to that. Just drop in an OEM to the OEM folder. On the same note... If there is sometjhing you want from the PPCK, lets say oh,,, hell, I dont know... WidgetX.... Then you can find the widgetX OEM in the PPCK OEM RAR file, grab itout and drop it in my OEM folder and it will show up. Does that make sense? Please hit the thanks button if it does... or doesnt ;c) |
