FormerPalmOS - sai understand it, the new drivers are from the most recent Diamond rom, 2.09. I tried to get it out of the Fuze kitchen put put by Da G over on xda. But it is part of xip.

I have that - dumped the XIP and have all the modules ready to play with. Just need to figure out what hardware is different between diamond and touch pro that affects early boot phase. But I'm reasonably confident that DDI can be switched. Stay tuned - hopefully I will have progress this weekend.

I can't put in the mad hours Scott puts in on these things.

Hi all, I am using Scott's Choice ROM, one thing that I notice is that when I am typing in the first few letters of a contacts name to send a text message to, I no longer get the contact's name/email automatically showing up??? This was always something that was available, is it the ROM or my device?

"Choice" is a pretty stripped down ROM... more than likely Scott just removed that functionality in that version.... If you really like/need it, you may want to try "Standard".

Yeah I was using the Standard but I wanted more free RAM so I went with Choice. I guess I can live without it.

I've been tinkering with it, but I am not exactly sure how to cook my own ROM, seems rather easy from what I've read. Any quick pointers?

When I was testing the standard version I noticed that this feature comes back. If you cook your own and put all the HTC stuff back in it will also work again! With both of those the operation of the "SYM" key on the physical keyboard comes back!

The Choice ROM is for those that want a stripped down ROM and can deal with out having all of those functions. If you really want it back I would suggest what Phattooth said....try the standard or cook in the HTC stuff.

It is removed from the Choice ROm. I would actually recommend you try the Kitchen. It is very user friendly and you can choose what you want in the ROM. I think the portion that you are looking for is part of the HTC Keyboard.
