Yes. Relock first, which flashes the bootloader back to stock, and then flash the stock ROM.

One bit of advice though... Your questions coudl have been answered by searching smarter (?). I know for a fact in the past month I have answered BOTH of these questions at least 3 times. No, for real! Im not joking.

Perhaps no one will check the bootloader, but perhaps he runs into that one anal, tech-savvy guy who decides to check. Then what? Say bye-bye to warranty repairs. It's always best to embrace your paranoid side

I always did it the other way on my Mogul, haven't relocked my TP yet. Stock ROM and then stock SPL.

But your right its risky. So far I have been lucky.

After breaking yet another USB port on my Titan I called up and said... "I just flashed the sprint firmware so I coudl get GPS on my mogul, USB port broke shorlty after....." Tech goes... "hold on let me talk with Sup" He comeas back and says. I cant swap the phone. I said Why? He said you falshed sprint software on it. I said... And? He said my supervisor said it was not ok for you to do that even though it has nothing with the USB port. I said... So you understand that point. Let me talk with you sup. With in a few minutes I had a fed-ex tracking number for new Titan....

You are wrong brightedge. Flash stock BEFORE relocking. Even the hard spl thread says so.
