Windows Mobile is one of the few OSes that is old yet still relevant. In my mind Symbian and Palm OS are all but extinct. Blackberry is so locked down and limited, that most developers could care less.

Windows Mobile aka Windows CE was made to run on embedded devices, it was not originally targeted at phones. Microsoft simply cannot throw away more than a decade of development and software compatibility. In my opinion, they will slowly morph it into a more "finger friendly" & "on the go" OS. Otherwise they will make tons of software obsolete, scaring away developers, manufacturers, and other vendors.

I actually like that windows mobile is much like my desktop in terms of capability. However, I wouldn't mind some iPhone like usability features added to Windows Mobile.

Since the flexibility of WM has ability to emulate/imitate any other new OS, with software out there, and like Manila, so what would be best is for them to increase the SPEED of the next OS version.
At least for now the new stuff that I "seen" isn't slower than what we have, just nothing really special to be getting in trouble messing with.
