I think what I have is slightly different though they are all probably from the same Blackstone ROM. Mine came from Drellisdee - already cooked with it and it rocks.

Me too, i've cooked it and its nice... 10 PP is giving me lockups during startup from time to time... might have to go to 11...

Yeah I uploaded the SYS in blackstone thread on XDA, orginaly did not come from blackstone rom. this SYS first apprear on 2-1-09 on DFT. From there it was quickly pulled MS did not like it on there.

Later Dutty got the system, he used 21014 DSM to recompile the system. From there it got leaked out to a few others. Eventually it was found on a chinese website. It was in 96DPI and 0804 lang. I converted it over and everything else. and posted there.

The hard part was finding a valid 21018 XIP, a lot of the ones i was finding were not valid xip, they would be missing a thing or two.

But the DSM in here if you look at those with a decent DSM tool. will show that they register has 21015, however, that is not the case. those are juse the dsm used to recompile the rom from its orginal source,

If you want you can go and modify the DSM patch them so they register a different number. but again this will take some time, and you will get not benfit from this, aside from seeing a higher number.

I did orginally upload this SYS to XDA though, in the Blackstone thread. This is where Dresllisdee got it from.

21018 is a very solid build I am yet to have an issue with it. and I am liking everything i have seen with it so far. Very fast has well.

Con - have you tried any of the XIP's I've hacked up? I have one for 21018 MSXIPKernel + stock VZW TP OEMXIPKernel. Includes both mencfilt.dll and cachefilt.dll. HD.dll osaxt.dll (or whatever it is) and WinCENLS_WWE moved out if XIP. .DSM files shrunk to minimum. HTC_FSFilter and replfsd whacked as well. All in all, this allows me to fit it into about 1MB less program memory. I've implemented some changes to boot.hv to (in my opinion) properly implement file and disk caching. It's stable and I think it's definitely faster than an XIP with un-modified boot.hv, plus the 1MB. I'd be curious if you have any feedback - good or bad. MAP.txt attached if you want to see how it's compacted.

I do my own Highly Customized XIP haha. My xip is under 2500 kb, os.nb.payload is 2600kb. Moves the nk.exe up. so startup times are faster.

Move the DDI.dll and GxDMA.dll into oemdrivers. WinCesWWE into SYS delete the bmui and a few other packages that are not needed and i go that way.

I do it that way. I am sure the changes you have done are great. I am done flashing for the day though. I need to clean my place today.

Hmmmm - Didn't know DDI and GxDMA could be moved out of the XIP. Care to share either your 21018 XIP or a memory map? You are CDMA Touch Pro, right?

On second thought though, how does this speed things up? You still have to load the module - it just loads as part of the OS start-up instead as part of the XIP start-up (robbing Peter to pay Paul). Likewise on memory - moving these out of the XIP to IMGFS reduces the size of the XIP, but the module still has to be loaded so it still takes up memory. You will appear to have more program memory, but you will be using more of it - in the end a net zero.

Here ends theory. I haven't tried and you have. So you get the final word on this.

Anyone care to share their 21018 sys. I tried the one posted here and got no booters.

Update I got it to boot by using 21109 sys and then overwrote some files from the 21018 sys posted in a link in here. Hah. Probably not too clean. Device reports 21018 sys though. =P The speed seems to be the same as 21015 to me though.

The SYS I am cooking with is basically what Conflipper cooked up (don't know if he posted it anywhere). I sent scrosler a copy - I'll PM him and ask him to post it.

I'm using the one i found on the internet, it is posting the sys as 21018.1.6 in System... About... Former Are u seeing the same?

Also I cooked it with the one that Drellisdee posted and everything worked with the exception of Email Messages would NOT open... I can see the header/title from the messages inbox but I could NOT open any of them... i click on it and nothing happens... Are u seeing this? I have no idea what went wrong...

The other one works like a champ tho...
