Con - have you tried any of the XIP's I've hacked up? I have one for 21018 MSXIPKernel + stock VZW TP OEMXIPKernel. Includes both mencfilt.dll and cachefilt.dll. HD.dll osaxt.dll (or whatever it is) and WinCENLS_WWE moved out if XIP. .DSM files shrunk to minimum. HTC_FSFilter and replfsd whacked as well. All in all, this allows me to fit it into about 1MB less program memory. I've implemented some changes to boot.hv to (in my opinion) properly implement file and disk caching. It's stable and I think it's definitely faster than an XIP with un-modified boot.hv, plus the 1MB. I'd be curious if you have any feedback - good or bad.
