Re: GC's Touch Pro ROMs & Kitchen 2.1.0

Whenever I try to load the Comm Manager, I get the error "Failed to read Comm Manager Settings...". I tried cooking with different versions provided in the kitchen, all of them give me the same results. Any ideas?

I would also like to add, that mms for Alltel is not working. Getting error "Message sent error".

Couple questions...

You used the Manila HD engine, so you're using the Manila HD theme as well correct?

If so, What exactly is it doing? Is it just not doing anything, or causing an error?

But yeah, manila HD is beta and could have a couple bugs. I'm using it because I like it and my contacts soft key works fine, and so far I haven't seen any bugs, but if you want a guaranteed bug free manila, just use the regular engine with a regular theme.
it is the right softkey when selected shortcut target error
error opening the shortcut or locating the target filename
I can access contacts via the start menu though

Its been a day using this rom and it is very fast, though I set it to a rather large pagepool (45.99) but this is my second flash. The first flash was still fast and the error still persisted using manila hd and the hd theme. So far it works well, no keyboard lag in typing sms, youtube application works famously.

Very well done

Re: GC's Touch Pro ROMs & Kitchen 2.1.0

wow 216mb in windblowz on the pre-cooked ROM that's awesome! Most I've ever seen was 205mb but if I cook a ROM it seems like it gets around 196mb? Wonder what's diff in the pre-cooked one?

Still having problems with weather labels in manila OEM so I kinda gave up on cookin'... the pre-cooked is great and just use da_g's touch pro CABs to get all the htc software on there.

agps and everything workin' great.. thanks man I think I found my ROM for CDMA

Re: GC's Touch Pro ROMs & Kitchen 2.1.0

GC,

I'm probably the only person in the world that uses JetCet printing, but the version in the ROM does not seem to connect to a bluetooth printer. Even without a BT printer you can test it by starting the program, clicking on the "Add Bluetooth Printer" icon then clicking "Select to search". When it works, it will actually try and find a printer and there will be a delay while it goes out and searches. The results I get is that it instantly comes back with "Select to restart search" without even attempting to search. This is on a Verizonized Sprint TP, so curious if anyone gets it to work on standared VZW hardware or with Sprint or other carriers. It does work with the shipped ROM.

In trying to solve the issue by DLing and applying the latest update from the manufacturers web site, I noticed another issue that may affect all ROMs for all I know, but the when installing the upgrade, I could tell that certain files were not updated because the timestamp of the file in the ROM (which was the date that the ROM was created) was newer than the timestamp of the file that it was trying to update, so it never copied it over.

So my question is that is there an option when cooking a ROM to allow the original date of the files to be kept instead of changing them to the date the ROM was cooked. I realized that some folks would just OEM the update and re-cook their ROM, but it seems that if you forgot or some software tried to update a system file when installing (even during customization) that depending on the installation routine, it could fail and lead to issues.

Feel free to ignore me (or point me to the thread I should have read before posting) if I'm just being ignorant and if this has all been discusses before

Thanks in Advance,

Dan

Re: GC's Touch Pro ROMs & Kitchen 2.1.0

Nice kitchen once again. Thanks!
everything seems to be working fine except for manila.
I first built with the Manila HD engine and TouchFlo HD manila, but couldnt get Manila to run-touch here to start...
I just rebuilt with the regular manila engine and generic touchflo manila. It starts up fine but randomly crashes and resets. I can get it to do this when I add a contact favorite or program-this is when finger scrolling to choose. This exact crashing happened with the last kitchen build. I ended up building with the VZW touchflo manila and the problem went away. If anyone has any help or fixes for this I would love it.

Where do you see the 2.1.2 kitchen? I have been enjoying using the last 2 releases but have had trouble with the generic Manila crashing. I was also not able to get this last Manila HD to start. I have posted my issues with both kitchens but this thread gets no attention-pretty annoying. Aw well my choice anyway and this kitchen works well with my OEMs so I am thankfull.

Might try over on XDA. I think he posts more there but I also think the reason is simply that he gets more coverage and response there so it's easier for him to fix problems from there and apply them here. Also keep in mind, he might just be very busy.

ya I'm having problems with manila generic too... my only problem is with the weather tab labels not showing up right... I'm going to see if I can figure out which file those are stored in and manually restore it from a manila backup... if not then I guess I'll pull an OEM from somewhere else... I did try manila HD in 2.1.2 and it worked great I just don't like the squashed graphics in weather so I'll stick with regular for now.
