I use the new version of this (with MR 4.14) and it works great. I agree it's a battery hog and unnecessary if used in daylight. Hopefully it can and will be updated to use the light sensor on the TP so it knows if its daytime or nighttime and turns the light on only as needed.

The latest 1.5 uses the light sensor and works great for me. You can change it to how much light you want before it won't turn on. Only thing is if you move from a light place to a dark place it won't notice and stay off.
