Re: Updated 1/16/09 VZW Pro Rom for Sprint Converts
Did you use the 20931 or the new 210xx at ppchaven.com ? The newest one is much better and would recommend that one.

I seem to be getting this error a lot as well. Even though I read a SMS, the phone is still showing that I haven't. Never happened with the stock VZW ROM.

Re: Updated 1/16/09 VZW Pro Rom for Sprint Converts
Ok, I have the 21014 build from ppchaven, and I can't get GPS to work to save my life. I've tried everything here. Any suggestions people?
I'm using a Sprint branded Touch Pro on the Verizon network. Never had GPS trouble with the first ROM from the "Sprint Touch Pro on Verizon" thread. Please help! Last edited by veedubguru; 02-18-2009 at 11:32 PM. |

I had that problem too at first. I used the gps tool to find it, just have to make sure it is set to cold start. By default it is on warm start and wont work. Did u call *228 option 1?

EDIT: I installed GPS Tool, and after waiting what seemed to be forever, it did get a GPS lock. Soft reset and tried again, still took forever. And none of my programs can seem to activate the GPS with using GPS Tool first. I love this ROM for a lot of reasons, but I think I'll take a step back until the GPS issues are fixed. I got spoiled with 5 second locks from a much older ROM without use of any priming utility. Last edited by veedubguru; 02-19-2009 at 12:21 PM. |

Re: Updated 1/16/09 VZW Pro Rom for Sprint Converts
Ok, reflashed again and this time it worked. However... the time to lock is really long. With the older 19xxx build, it would lock in about 5 seconds. With this build (21014) it reminds me of the 6800 before the gps fix. It would lock, but who knows when.
Is there anything that can be done to get the GPS to lock like it did with the 19xxx build? And quick question... with that older build, I had absolutely no GPSOne server info entered in QPST, and had the Valhalla GPS Server installed, and was getting the quick locks. Do I need to go back to putting in those aGPS server settings in with QPST? I have tried and it doesn't seem to do much good. Right now, I'm running just the ROM only (I have a Sprint TP on Verizon network). I have applied 0 GPS fixes. If anyone could tell me what's the right combo with this ROM to get the GPS to lock quickly, please let me know! |
