Actually you can delete the xip.bin file from the downloads. When you plop the new SYS/XIP into the kitchen and build for the first time the xip won't show up until you click Touch Pro as the device or Diamond depending on where you copy the ROM stuff. The Kitchen creates the XIP.bin based on what is in the kitchen when you cook.

28011 was great on battery, 28014 might be a bit faster and I haven't really seen any hits on battery with it.

My ROMs from both of these builds had 12Mb page pool (now testing 16Mb, which seems more stable), 550 Modules, & TF3D2.1.
Memory @ startup ~75-80Mb
Memory after a few hours ~90-95Mb
Why don't you just select the PP to 0? Then it's dynamic and works MUCH better IMO. That's what calkulin does on his 6.5+ROM's.

Calkulins Visual VGA Kitchen/ROM/Touch_Pro/28011 Shouldn't I have a folder named: OEMXipKernel ???

This is what the other build folders have. just copying the 28011 folder to each location dosen't seem right to me correct me if I'm wrong. Forgive me this is my first time adding anything to kitchen and my searches aren't helping me....
Yes the OEMXipKernel does go in the \\\Touch_Pro\28011 folder. The zipped up SYS/XIP's aren't meant to just be unzipped into the kitchen folder. At least none that I have used. You have to do it folder by folder.

where do I get the OEMXipKernel folder? I read in the touch pro 2 thread that you just take another folder ex. 23506 and copy and rename it to 28011. is this correct here also???

edit: I hope so because I just did a ROM, lol... all seems to be good so far just getting into the testing...

OEMXipKernel is phone specific. So yes, you can simply copy one of the other folders and rename it to the current build. MSXIPKernel is the build specific folder.

Re: [ 11-10 ][ v4.2 ][ 6.5.x / 6.5 / 6.1 ] Calkulin's Visual VGA Kitchen & ROMs

I have been having a strange problem recently with this ROM where my hardware keyboard (on the HTC Touch Pro) doesn't work. No key is recognized, but it is receiving power (which leads me to believe it's a software issue) because when I slide out the keyboard, the keys light up. Sometimes if I soft reset the phone, the keyboard will work for a few minutes just by chance. I have tried doing a hard reset, and it doesn't seem to help.

Any ideas? Thanks!

I think you're asking in the wrong forum, so this should probably be moved, but as this just happened to me too, I'll let you know that I searched and found that this is a known issue that starts with keys repeating (mine was most pronounced with the space key repeating 5 to 10 times between words), and then the keyboard starts crapping out. Soft reset sometimes fixes it, and then after a while, nothing works, and the keyboard is dead. You need to get a replacement. One theory is that there is a wire that is heating up and shorting out near the space bar, but I'm not really sure.

Has anyone else tried Calks 21884 and found it continually crashes? I ported that build in way before Calk uploaded it and never had a problem with it. Super fast and stable, but for some reason I'm getting a lock up and auto hard reset issue on Calks.

I had that problem on some old roms I built when I was adding in an EXT w/ a mxipupdate*.xml file. I changed it to mxip and all was well. And, that was also when I started flashing to stock and then back to the custom ROM followed by a hard reset.. Try those out and see how it goes.

Re: [ 11-10 ][ v4.2 ][ 6.5.x / 6.5 / 6.1 ] Calkulin's Visual VGA Kitchen & ROMs

Hey guys,

I just received word that Calk will be releasing one more VGA kitchen. Understandably, supporting two devices is becoming too tme consuming for him. But this is great news. Once he gives us a Sense kitchen with updated OEMs and EXTs, we will have one heck of a base to modify as time goes on.

All hail Calk.

This is the first problem I've ever had on a ROM. I reloaded the 11-10 kitchen and started from scratch. I do a lot of little customizing edits, more theme and quick setup based. So the base of Calks kitchen is usually unchanged. I might have taken something out on accident or something. I flashed back to stock and then reflashed with my new setup, and so far, all is well. Thank you for your input.

I've been on Calks kitchen since I got my TP and I'd have to say I've been pretty loyal. So it looks like I'm getting a TP2 since he's over there now. With the way things have slowed down in the TP forums I think its about time anyway.
