Any Ideas?
Seriously? No one has had this issue? Or is it that no one ever tries this?
There is no Roaming selection for me in phone options-Services-Networks.

(Fyi Calk, Is it a little weird that the Generic & Sprint Carrier package, as well as, DCD's Sprint carrier cab do not remedy this either) any ideas, or is it me???

I am excited to try a newer build. I heard good comments on series 28xxx and on build 23511. Still don't know which one is really better, if there is one, but I would like to have Manila 2.5 included in my new ROM but without landscape mode at all, I'm not sure I will survive. I need at least something that works.

I'm still new in this big world and I admit that because of that, I am easily lost. By searching in Google, I found 2 links related to Manila 2.5 in landscape. The screenshots are great.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591837

If this could be included and working in a ROM/Kitchen, I would be very happpy. I don't know if others in the forum saw this and tried it already. Other comments on that are welcome.

Thanks
Both of these are for wvga only. no one has ported it for our vga devices yet or i would be all over it. Honestly, landscape is no deal breaker for me. Text works in landscape, email works in landscape and both music and photo will auto rotate. Other than that i never have a need for landscape...but i will have it available once it is available. ohh. I really favor this 28008 right now, battery life has been phenomenal. I added opera10 beta 2 to my newest build but it isn't the default from manila, seems thats is a problem with it...no reg keys yet. Other than that opera 10 seems pretty slick.

this is what i experience. I install the prl and profile icons but neither will work. I am using the generic build. In the tools folder there is a sprint extra's cab that installs something that fixes all my issues, prl updates, pri updates and what not. There is a trade off though. Once i run this, i start to experience the random BSONES (black screen of never ending sleep) and sometimes it will randomly reset itself and boot up to "autoprovisioning" it will move past this and work fine. So i do not instal this as it is obviously fixing and breaking something at the same time. My work around has been to either flash to stock and update then flash back, or manually upgrade the prl-pri.

HTH

Ah, thnx for the info. One of my peeves is: I like entering searches from the internet tab in landscape, so I anxiously await.
And, Good news about the 28008. I'm constantly searching for better batterylife out of my TP so I'm not tempted to buy the beefy extended battery. It's also not fair that I compare it to the BBCurve's battery that my sister has (watching them plug it in every other day ).

Thats a good idea, I enjoyed it as well. I just hope it sticks to a vertical scrolling path when they release the full version. The zig-zag my thumb makes while scrolling down a page is brutal on my eyes, haha.

It does. Thanks!
This is the first low(er)-level bug I've gotten so thanks for the help. All my other issues have really just been UI and the basics.

By "manually" I'm guessing you mean EPST, right? (not QPST)
cause I get that crashing problem trying to save/update ANYTHING using EPST.

I guess it could be a driver I moduled. Time to go huntin'

OK. Thanks for the info. I think I will try it tonight then. I am ready for something new. My old release is boring now.

I am also always looking for the best battery life and best speed that it is possible to have. Let me know when you have everything ready so I can setup a kitchen with all the new things like build 28008 and latest manila 2.5. If there is special instructions, I would appreciate. I am still learning a lot. If you do a great generic ROM with all that, maybe I will try it also.

Thanks

Here is the actual VGA thread over at XDA for Manila 2.5 Landscape. A few of the same people that brought us Manila 2.5.1921 are working on it with the help of Rotastrain, who created the WVGA version. Check it out

Both are available. I build my roms generic but very light. I have all the sys/rom as well as manila files on my ftp site. There are some roms prebuilt and labled on there as well, just take you pick if you want to take 2.5 for a spin and not crank up the kitchen yet. PM me for a username password for my ftp site.

TMartin made a great kitchen i heard, he has it for download and its preassembled for 2.5..
