Re: [ 9-24 ][ v3 ][ 6.5.1 / 6.5 / 6.1 ] Calkulin's Visual HTC Kitchen & ROMs

I cooked a 23053 ROM last night with the Showcase Suite included... nothing but constant lockups.

So, I made a new 23053 ROM without the Showcase Suite, but with TaskFacade instead... seems to be *very* good so far, without a single lockup yet.

Other than that, great job for everything and pushing out these updates so quick!

i had this problem so i downloaded Advanced Config and upped the performance... so far no hiccups for 5 hours whereas it started maybe every so often when i used email download and when i opened the text

hope this helps

Am I missing something but I can’t find where to not install Showcase Suite. I went up and down the list. Is it named something else or am I not doing something right. This is the first time making a custom rom.

Its has to be me…

find the program here

http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-...tion-tool.html

then open and scroll down to performance

i have these settings but play around with your own and you can always go back to "stock"

changed:
FILE SYSTEMS CACHE: 4MB
FILES SYSTEM FILTER CACHE: 16384 SECTORS
GLYPH CACHE: 64KB

THEN HIT "DONE" AND your phone will reset .. you can change a lot of things in that program like where your browser cache location is so that it doesnt slow down your phone with cookies and sites visited.

This still working for you? I had to give up on 9/19 53 ROM because I once had to soft reset 3 times in order to reply to one text message. Took me forever and it was past midnight.

Other than those weird locks I like this ROM a lot. Hope it gets fixed soon.

That's because you can't double click on OEM's to add or remove them in the kitchen. It's not that simple. I haven't added or removed OEM's yet, so I don't have the answer for you. Maybe Calk can chime in with a quickie answer. I am researching though. Noob cook here.

Does anyone have the v3 9-16 Kitchen? Please post a mirror if you can.

THANK YOU!

In the far top-right drop down (EXT), you choose: 6.5.1, and it will show eNatives ShowCase Suite as one of the choices down toward the bottom of the main window: double click on that to make it "False" and it won't be installed

For OEMs, you can "enable" them if they are "False" by default, but you can't disable them if they are "True" by default. For that, they need to be converted to EXT (VK Extensions = Old Style Kitchen OEMs).

I convert all OEMs (except stock) to EXTs and find the kitchen works better and produces more consistent ROMs.

I've attached a couple sweet little CAB and OEM package converters that make EXTs
