Re: [ Jul 21 ] [ 23009 \ 21921 \ 21052 ] [ v2 ] Calkulin's Kitchen & ROMs

Hey, just wanted to say thanks for the awesome ROMs, but just had a quick question for ya... On some ROMs I've used, I noticed I could use the TP's spin-slider (spinning your finger around the center button to zoom in in Opera and such) to scroll through the Titanium interface. This doesn't seem to work on this ROM; is there a way to fix this? Not a huge problem, just something I enjoy. Thanks in advance!

But to clarify, when you wrote "export the following registry key", I presume you mean enter manually with a program like PHM Reg Edit.

Also, what is the significance of the last two entries of the registry key ("CachedBackgroundPath" and "HomeBackgroundPath")? What is the path that they are referring to (since I do not see these paths or files in my My Documents folder?

Quote:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
"Weather.CityList"="NAM|US|KS|WICHITA"
"Weather.CurrentCity"=dword:0
"Weather.PostFirstRun"=dword:1
"ShowLogo"=dword:0
"EnableLandscape"="true"
"CachedBackgroundPath"="\\My Documents\\My Pictures\\FuzeBerry Wallpaper\\26(2).jpg"
"HomeBackgroundPath"="\\My Documents\\My Pictures\\FuzeBerry Wallpaper\\26(2).jpg"
CeRegEditor from: http://ceregeditor.mdsoft.pl/, is what I use to export registry keys to my laptop, then I can just cut-n-paste into the RGU.

I don't recall what those registry entries are for, it's from my old TF3D kitchen that I haven't used in a while. I would assume they had something to do with setting the background pics...

Your experience is the exception; I've observed numerous threads in other forums where folks have issues w/7z files and compression engine. Albeit, nothing major, but you are the 1st person I've heard that has had issues w/WinRar. I've used the WinRar engine for almost 10-years and it has never failed me... yes not once.

All I'm suggesting is Calk try RaRing and see the results... it's not MediaFire, that much I will commit to... Nufsaid.

I'm also having issue decompressing 23009 with both 7zip and WinRAR.

Calkulin, have you tried repacking this with a different utility?

Re: [ Jul 21 ] [ 23009 \ 21921 \ 21052 ] [ v2 ] Calkulin's Kitchen & ROMs

I recently downloaded Calkulin's Touch Pro 23009 Rhodium CLEANROM v2 7-22 and I noticed some improvements as compared to Calkulin's Touch Pro 23009 Rhodium ROM v2 7-22. The main improvement was that I can now call people using the People tab off Rhodium by tapping the appropriate button. Previously, when I tried calling any one of my contacts from the People tab nothing would happen. In addition, with the new CLEAN ROM, I no longer see the white buttons on the dialer screen when making a phone call. (Both of these problems were previously fixed using a CAB file as referenced in post #3102 by drdrewdown.)

This difference in function makes me think that something in the non-Clean ROM is somehow causing these errors. (Note that I did not have to install any CAB fix file to address these errors when I flashed with the CLEAN ROM.)

I don't know if this helps you help sort out some of the problems with the non-Clean ROM, Calkulin.

Either way, I wanted to thank you for your time and effort.

1. I am running Rhodium Manila (TouchFLO 3D) which looks great and even has a functional program tab. However, I added some favorites to the People tab and I cannot dial these contacts from the People tab in Rhodium. I touch the phone icon, but nothing happens. Interestingly, I can start an e-mail or text message by touching the appropriate icon in the People tab, but no luck with calling their number(s).

2. When I make a call with the native Phone program and the phone starts to dial, the screen changes and is supposed to show 6 buttons on the bottom (speaker phone, mute, open contact, open note, end call, etc.), but the buttons appear white instead, and I cannot tell which button corresponds to which function.

3. What are the SYS files used for in post #1?
