Question "New" x6850 has unlocked HSPL? Need Help or Information, Please!

Dear Friends,

I'm a relative newbie to all of this stuff but would really appreciate some advice. I bought a "new in box" Verizon version of the Touch Pro (the x6850, I believe they call it) on eBay. The seller claimed it had "only been turned on and had one test call made to make sure it was working." It has arrived and I immediately checked the boot code and it reports:

RAPH500
SPL-0.35.CMONEX
MicroP-Raph (LED) v8182
MicroP-Raph (KEY) v0682
PSOC-Raph STAGE_EVT v20

so it appears this is not the Verizon stock ROM, at least to me.

My question is: Does this matter? As long as the ROM is valid is there any risk to me if someone had my phone and tinkered with it before me (assuming it has a clean ESN, of course, and that I reload a "stock" ROM)? Why would someone get a phone just to unlock it and possibly dump the ROM? I'm concerned there may be some hacking into my service somehow but I'm not knowledgable enough to know.

Thank you in advance for any views and advice offered.

Happy Holidays to all.
