EDIT: In case you don't know how to get the nbh file for the verizon unlocker, just download the verizon unlocker to your desktop and open it. It will then extract it's self onto your desktop and the rom update utility will run. Now you will see the nbh file on your desktop since it's extracted. Just grab it and rename it to RAPHIMG.nbh and put it on your mem card. Then you can cancel the rom update utlility since you go the nbh file.

Razorloves: Thanks for the guidance.=D> I'm cmonex 035. However, I'm getting the exact same results with the Verizon stock ROM. Everything is "ok" until the OS. The progress bar looks complete, but the OS will does not get to "ok"... The SSK 1.8 ROM results are also unchanged.

Any other ideas?

hmmmm...
have you tried using a different mem card? how about trying a different rom, like someone's custom rom (mighty's or juicy's). can you put your phone into bootloader (tricolor screen) and tell me everything it says.

Red Section
Security Unlocked
RAPH500
SPL-0.35.cmonex
MicroP-Raph (LED) v8182

Blue Section
MicroP-Raph (KEY)v8682
PSOC-Raph STAGE_EVT v20

White Section
Serial

I've tried MightyROM 5, SSK 1.8, Juicy 7, Stock Verizon. Basically I'm hosed when I get to registering the screen (tap screen to continue) with all of them except the Stock Verizon which will not complete the bootloader OS step successfully.

Thanks,

Well...it sounds like your screen just went bad and you'll just have to get a replacement. I sent you a private message

I agree that the screen has failed. It has an oily square rectangular (can be seen at an angle) that covers two thirds of the interior of the screen - the oily rectangle does not extend to the edges of the screen. I also have a "bubble" for lack of a better description that is about 1/4" in from the left side of the screen (near the volume lower button). When I load the custom ROMs I get to the same place (screen setup) where it fails. My biggest problem is that I can't get the stock ROM past the bootloader. I've downloaded it twice to make sure I didn't have a bad copy. I just need to get back to stock so I can relock - I have a warranty phone coming on Tuesday. But... when I said there was an issue with the screen they said I would have to pay the full price of the phone if it was water damage. It's not, but how do I know they won't make that claim?

Razorlove - thanks for the help so far...

You're welcome man. Sucks that your screen went bad. Mine just developed that oily rectangle a few weeks ago. It's still working fine though. Ok... have you tried flashing with your computer with the phone in bootloader mode? To do that you have to have activesync (for XP) or WMDC (for Vista) installed. Then, remove mem card and put your phone into bootloader mode (tricolor screen), then connect the phone to computer (you should here the computer make a ding dong sound like it's recognizing a usb device and on the phone you should see it say USB at the bottom of the screen. Then run that shipped rom exe file. Let me know how that goes. good luck

You can successfully exchange your phone for the oily ring / square. I did it a couple months back.

Yea...I've read the huge thread on it over in the touch pro general forum. Not everyone is having success getting it replaced for free though. I'm with alltel, so one of these days i'm gonna call them up and give it a shot. thanks

RazorLoves - you rock.

WMDC was the missing link preventing me from a computer flash. Downloaded it and I now have stock Verizon ROM loaded without a hitch. But that screen is still dead. dead. dead. Now I'll try to relock and should be good to go.

I'll keep you posted on the relock and return. Ironic thing is I had to go back my Motorola Q since the TouchPro failed. I actually dropped the Q in 6 feet of water, down for about five minutes while I dove trying to find it in a muddy lake. Put it in the oven (after removing the battery) and let it bake on low for a couple of hours. The only problem I had afterwards - I had to charge the battery outside of the phone (external charger). Well lo and behold after coming out of its six month retirement, the Q will now take a charge. Friggin' phone is tough... and for just phone calls, email and text -hard to beat.

Re-lock completed. Good to go back for replacement on dead screen (looks like screen is separating).

Thanks again...

Does this Method still work? I have a BB storm and hate it. I have a sprint HTC TP waiting for me, I just need to make sure its still possible. Thanks!
