Which step are you having problems?
* Renaming the correct startup.txt in npkinstall and running the install.exe.
or
* Copying the correct startup.txt from startups to your SD Card root and running haret.exe from the SD Card root.

Install.exe copies the ROM files from androidinstall.tar.gz to the ext2 partition. When it was running, I thought it said it was doing a format. So there's no worry about a data.img file deletion?
I'm going to try another SDCard, I think it's an SDCard related issue. It seems to read the startup.txt but hey, that could be wrong too, but I vaguelly remember a "Waiting for SDCard" error message and the way I solved it was switching the SDCard.. I've been testing lots of stuff with my phones lately, will jump into this soon. I wish there was a phone creeper for android! (it's what im testing on the Imagio since there is no Android for it! LOL)
