RE-POST
Auto Backlight Toggle. This was on pocketnow today, you may want to give it a try. Installs a toggle to turn the Auto Backlight control On/Off. It reduces the number of steps it takes to turn it on/off. Some may find it useful. Works great.

somemorestuff, could you post your SASHIMI file? I've had no end of problems trying to get my auto-installs to work.
TIA

Have not used Sashimi in a while.
Unless there was an update it doesn't install to sd in autorun.
Place all cabs in cab folder and try manual install from Sashimi. that way you can tell apps where to install.
Should work fine.

Re: [ROM] ROOTROM - Sense 2.1/2.5 Landscape - SMS/MMS - Sashimi Compliant - 04/18/20

ok after a weekend of usage, one complete crash where i had to reinstall everything once again, i just like the ROM. it does everything i want it to do, looks cool as an ice polar cap, works awesome except for text msging. Everything works sooooooo good, except for that one thing, txt msging. hanged soo many times when i open a thread with a lot of txt msgs in it. i hear that it is a sense issue, anyway to speed it up? or disable sense handling the messaging and let windows deal with it ?

Unless root changed it you ARE letting Windows deal with it. For awhile now root and ahuskins have been using a modded messaging program that is essentially Windows messaging made to LOOK like Sense.
Classically messaging hangs/crashes have very often been traced back to the user having a large number of messages stored on the device. If you have a lot try cleaning 'em out and see if that helps.

Yup. having 1000s of messages tends to crash messaging. LOL
Back them up and clean it out and it will fix that issue.

Hmm - there's no single "file" for SASHIMI, in fact there are several files (as pointed out by Root). Root does install SASHIMI for us (just run SASHIMI from the SASHIMI folder in the start menu) - like he said, it doesn't auto-run in auto mode on hard-reset anymore.

If you want more help on sashimi, here's the links that I use:
http://www.winmo-experts.com/viewforum.php?f=7

If you're by chance thinking of "User Customization" (which uses a single file called SDConfig.txt and your install files) then here are the links for those:
While I like the simplicity of UC (and it's much faster too!), I eventually went to sashimi b/c it was easier to debug and could do far more complex tasks using mortscript (like completely re-arranging my start menu icons or handling the GTA theme installation automatically).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?p=1896953
All the links you need for SDConfigBuilder and other tools are there (try SDConfigBuilder first though - it does most things), as well as several example files. NOTE: THE EXAMPLE .XML FILES WILL ALMOST ALWAYS WORK WITH SASHIMI!!! (except for file operations for some reason)
CSP EMAIL2 Configuration Service Provider - Tells you how to do email provisioning .XML files. This is where I eventually figured out how to get 60 days of email (instead of 30 or all of it like winmo offers).
Note: Root does NOT include User Customizations, but simply running the executable (from anywhere on the phone or SD Card) will start the install process.

Feel free to PM me if you're looking for example arrangements to make sashimi, mortscript, or user customizations do what you want it to - and of course we can chat in the forums above to discuss with the experts.

Re: [ROM] ROOTROM - Sense 2.1/2.5 Landscape - SMS/MMS - Sashimi Compliant - 04/18/20

Agree - I have 1600+ text messages running around (too lazy to clean them out).
On first load everything seems to work fine, but then it will apparently "hang" when I open a contact or view all messages (particuarly after the first reset).

ONLY THE FIRST COUPLE OF TIMES THOUGH!

My advice - let it run its course (about 5-10 minutes). After the initial "hiccups" the interface is much smoother (go ahead and open every text messaging menu you can find until the hiccups are gone). You will still see a noticable lag until you clean it out, but it doesn't "hang" anymore. My guess is the happy number is about 300 -- the size of the call history log by default.

(Now where was it in Advanced Configurator to increase that setting..... )
