Re: 04.11.11 Hero ROMS updates
I see from this list that Fresh 2.4.0 is a 2.1 release, but they said it would allow me to run apps from my sdcard thereby freeing up badly needed builtin storage. The Android store won't let me install App2SD however, and I've found material on the internet that indicates you have to have 2.2. at least before you can run apps off the sdcard. Can someone fill me in as to if I need to get to CyanogenMod to get what I want? Thankx, -- TFH

Are you rooted? You need to be for app2sd. If I were you i would go to the Hero page on xda and flash Deck. Its a gingerbread based on cm7. Thing really flys!

Re: 04.11.11 Hero ROMS updates
Hi,
I know this is gonna sound strange, but here goes: I gave my Sprint cdma Hero to my mother (in December), who lives across the country from me, so I can only help via phone and/or computer. The phone is rooted w/ unrevoked (S-ON), AMON RA, and FRESH 2.4 w/ baseband radio 2.42.01.04.27. Lately (w/in the last 2 months), she's been experiencing a LOT of dropped calls (4-5/day). I've walked her through updating the PRL & Profile. But I suspect the phone has a lot of junk on it, that might be contributing to the problems, and needs an updated Radio, Kernel, (or ROM). I'm pretty sure (via phone/computer) I can walk her through some wiping & flashing. I'm looking for a very stable setup that will not need to be tweaked constantly to fix bugs. She use it mainly for phone calls, email/text , and some internet. She's also been going through more battery drain than should be. I was just going to walk her through factory/data reset (?), wiping cache, dalvik, and re-flashing Fresh 2.4, and the newer 2.42.01.04.29 radio. Does anyone have any info/suggestions, or better solution? I was also looking into Liquidsense 2.1, 2.1.1, and possibly AOSP 2.3.4, but didn't know if there'd be much tweaking/ trouble for her. Thanks for any help. |

I haven't updated in a while but for battery drain, she stick to 2.1. My friend is running stick still and loves stock.
Walk her through recovery and have her flash a different kernel, probably netarchy after she does the Rom Cooler than your EVO |

Re: 04.11.11 Hero ROMS updates
Thanks Aman, I'll give that a try.
Oh, which netarchy kernel (and baseband radio version) do you suggest? And, what did you mean by "stick", when you said "My friend is running stick"? Thanks again. Last edited by swwing17; 06-12-2011 at 03:13 PM. |
