Not that I know of, but it may work. He just specifically states not to flash over modaco. I suggest Gumbo TTG or Fresh. I personally use Fresh.

I am new with this and I want to know what is better if madoco or fresh rom or other one, I want the most stable and fast because I don't want to keep flashing, I get tired of doing this with the diamond.

setcpu is in the market.

Im not a complete moron. I do have the app already dl'd and installed, but when i try to set it up/use it my original post happens.

First of all, you specifically said you were trying to install setcpu. Secondly, attitude not necessary when asking for help. Obviously your post wasn't clear enough or I wouldn't have advised you what to do. You may not be a moron but I failed to recognize that I was supposed to know who you are or your experience level. Good luck on your search.

I have it with Modaco 2.2 without any issues.

It will flash over any rom. when he stated not to flash over Modaco's 1.2 Kernel that is similar to this one It has a compcache feature that will conflict with the setcpu. The Modaco roms are safe to do so

Go to Settings -> Applications -> Development and make sure USB Debugging is on. Then when SU permissions comes up after you turn on SetCPU make sure you choose Always Allow.

ThaCounty: I am running TTG. I dl'd the Kernal, installed from zip. Dl'd the SetCPU ran it and under the first screen when it asks for your device, I choose HTC HERO (which is indeed the phone I'm using) and after that it goes to a black screen w/ a gray bar on top saying SetCPU in the corner. Never moves from that and backing out causes force close.
It never asked for SU permission when I started the app, but I did notice my SU icon changed from a blue square with SU on it ,into a little black ninja.
Additionally, USB debugging is on

Sounds like you may need another SetCPU install. Sometimes an install doesn't work correctly. I am using the one from XDA I don't know if you downloaded from market or what, but its not working at all as you said. Uninstall, reset, and reinstall.

I always do a fresh install anyway . I Prob take the long route but who cares. Maybe its teh Windows still in me.lol
