OMJ or anyone have this issue. I flashed to GB 2.3.3 SV 2.1. I got the ROM to flash and it sets up. The problem I run into is if I reboot the phone, it stay o the Evo sign and wont completely reboot.

I was running 4.5 and then switched to Virus Gb and didnt like it. Had to upgrade PRI back up from the 1.77 to 1.90_003. was able to restore my 4.5 after upgrading back to 1.9. After I made sure the restore was stable is when I did a complete wipe and installed GB 2.3.3. I tried just a Dalve wipe didnt work. I tried a cashe wipe didnt work. I did a factory/data wipe and it didnt complete the reboot. Only when I reflashed 2.3.3 did the phone complete the boot. I just cant turn my phone off now, LOL. Any suggestions?? Thx

PS, I did add the 3.0 lockscreen, not sure if that has anything to do with it

successful flash of updated GB but for some reason my contacts wont load....any suggestions?

your post is kinda confusing.....which ROM are u wanting to use?

when u say u cant turn off the phone, the screen wont turn off or wont power down?

not sure if you're talking about this......but the newer gb has the fast boot enabled......menu/settings/power/fast boot.....uncheck

I havent seen an issue loading contacts from either gb rom....syncing w/ google contacts or exchange.

which contacts are u trying to load?

I was originally on OMJ 4.5, wanted to check out a GB ROM and flashed Virus GB ROM. After a day I didnt like it and restored back to OMJ 4.5 and then flashed OMJ 2.3.3. But before flashing back to any ROM I had to update the PRI because with Virus you have to downgrade the PRI to 1.77. So after upgrading again to 1.90_003 I was able to restore OMJ 4.5. I was able to flash OMJ 2.3.3 V2.1 fine. I went into recovery to create a backup and after backing it up, the phone rebooted but wouldnt get past the EVO screen. So I had to pull the battery and figure out what was wrong. I did a data/factory wipe, reboot, nothing. Pulled the battery, recovery. Cache wipe, reboot, nothing. Pulled the battery, recovery. Did a Culkins format all wipe, reboot, nothing, pulled the battery and just reflashed the ROM again (OMJ 2.3.3). It booted fine and I added the Sense 3.0 lockscreen APK and then tried another recovery to backup. Backed up fine and reboot got stuck AGAIN!!. So I just reflashed the ROM and left it. The phone can go to sleep, and yes I have the new lock screen, than you. But I cant do any kind of power off unless I wanna reflash the ROM again. Sorry for the long post, it was a lot of trial an error last night.

well that's strange it would not boot after backing up.....but, just so u know, my GB rom w/ Sense 2.1 was originally from virus, then re-engineered by amikam, and then modified by me......I started out w/ PRI 1.90 but my awake/up times were the same so I downgraded to 1.77.....now it's good.

anytime I have boot issues, I try wiping dalvik-cache....

fyi (in case u didnt know)---if u wipe data/factory wipe, u will lose any apps I installed in the data partition. If you run Calkulins Format all, it formats the system & boot partitions, so it will definitely not boot.

I only do a backup before I'm about to flash.....

hey omj, over in the virus kingdom rom thread, there were a decent amount of posts related to partitioning the sd card. if it leaves more space on the card to go that route, do you know if the sd card that came with the evo is fast enough/high enough class?

should be, others posted they are using it.....I partitioned mine the other day (stock sdcard), but virus said it's not necessary with the way he has the rom setup.
