That's because this rom is based off of the speedy (Evo Shift) ota which does not have hdmi. Hope this helps.

I also have the EVO 3D and that needs a special MHL adapter which after searching all over the internet I finally found for 16.99... It takes about 1 week to get it.. Hopefully it works... Sucks that HTC removed the regular MicroHDMI and made the MicroUSB also the HDMI output... Problem is you need a special cable/adapter which hardly anyone has yet.. |

Do you know if there is a Kernel or app which will activate the HDMI. I tried HDMwIn but that didn't work. EVO recognizes the HDMI cable and I can change the resolution but it just doesn't broadcast to the TV. Any ideas would be great.. Thanks |

Thats a good question. I am not sure but if you try a rom based off the rooted evo gb ota, hdmi does work. We have a couple here at Geeks. Fresh being one of them. I personally never used hdmi and prefer the sense 2.1 based roms. Good luck.

FYI, my Evo 4G died the other day and long story short, I upgraded to the Evo 3D. I've gotta say, in my opinion, the 3D is a huge steaming piece of c _ _ p.
In the 4 days I had the device, it rebooted itself no less than 18 times, possibly more (not exaggerating). I have since returned it and gone back to my trusty Evo 4G. Unfortunately it has the new boot-loader, so I'm stuck in bloatware land with the stock ROM. Looking forward to someone finding a root exploit for the new boot-loader |

just thought I'd drop by to say hello
I will not be cooking any new Evo 4G ROMs I would strongly suggest following Mik (amikam), as my ROMs were closely related. I see he has a few updates since v2.2, and I saw on FB he said yesterday: Quote:

as for the MHL port on the 3D, it sounds like it's a new standard, combining micro usb & hdmi, plus if u have a MHL capable tv, it will change the phone. Quote:

OMJ - I am using this rom and *loving it*, thank you! Just a few issues, please help/address if you can:
Thanks! Xan. Edit: forgot to mention how much your phone utility rocks!! How could anyone offer a pretty phone interface that doesn't allow you to instantly add numbers to contacts, easily see your contact in the address book, find contacts by dialing their name from the phone screen, etc...? For that alone this rom rocks. Edit redux: found the Google voice input plugin via droid marketplace & it fixed the voice input issue (for Nav). Last edited by Xandaira; 07-28-2011 at 02:10 AM. |

Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.3.3 Custom ROMs | GingerBread 4.24.651.1 | *Updated 7/2/11*
So my digitizer stopped working, just a tiny line near the top of the screen is not working. The rest of the screen work perfectly. For example on the dialer screen I cannot select the most recently called number by clicking on it I have to hit the phone button to dial that number. I am able to drag down the notification screen, so that tell me that the very top part of the screen is still working. It's only the thin line near the top. I called HTC, said it is still under warranty. They also said that the warranty does not apply if the phone has any custom firmware/or has been rooted. Does this mean I cannot send to to them? Or can I just flash a stock ROM and they will not be able to tell? IF I can just flash a ROM which one should I do?
Thanks, Bryan |
