OTA's will start on Tuesday. You MIGHT be able to manually check for an update but I heard that wasnt working.

The version released is rooted, no need to do anything but flash it like any other ROM. I'm booted into the Stock one now and testing it. OMJ's will be like any other update but there is a new radio and wimax to go along with Froyo.

Is it safe to try it out? If anything goes wrong can we go back to older ROMs? What about the radios? Can those be reverted also... I'll do a nand backup "again" and wait 'till tomorrow (lol, crap it is tomorrow..... Well, wait for a little while)

It's safe to try the ROOTED version that was posted a page back. On you wife's unrooted phone if you accept any official updates there's no telling when/if you'll be able to root that device, just fyi.
Yes you can go backwards if you need to on ROMs and radios.

FYI-for anyone wondering the current Froyo does NOT upgrade the PRI-at least not by flashing netarchy's files.

Checked the wife's phone and NADA.. No updates.. Guess they will roll out Tuesday.

Is it worth taking froyo for a spin right now or give it a few hours and see what you and OMJ come back with later today???

If I nand backup will the data.img restore work under froyo? Have you tried it?

Thanks... Going to sleep now.. I downloaded the netarchy files (ROM, and radios..) but I'll try them later today.. Need some sleep.:(

Only you can know if it's worth a shot or not. I didnt try the data.img since it's 2.1 to 2.2. So far all my apps except Wireless tether work.

Wireless tether does not appear to work.
Stock USB tethering does not either-could be the build, could be it wont be working till Tuesday. PDAnet does work.

I'm running barcode scanner from the SD :D

EDIT:There are rumors floating around that you cant go back to 2.1 after going to 2.2.....:bs:

I don't know about the themes but I do know the keyboard ripped from the Droid X doesn't work.

cool Ken. Not sure on the themes but I remember Konikub mentioning that he needed to change stuff around in his themes for DC beta (sense) froyo rom so its probably a work in progress. Not 100% though.

Well based on that and the fact that I tried Aloysius theme and the phone wont boot then I'd say notsomuch.......
Wiping now....
This makes sense to me as konikub told me some themes do require apps to be installed along with the theme so he will prop need to make sure everything is 2.2 compliant.
PLUS-the current ROM is not deodexed.

Wiping wasnt enough, had to reinstall the whole ROM.

My guess is it had more to do with the ROM not being deodexed more than anything else.

Is wireless tethering working for you? Couldnt get it to go on Stock Froyo or OMJ 2.0. Did the uninstall/reinstall just to be sure.
It runs, just wont connect to the internet. This seems to be the norm with this release of Froyo, may need some tweaking from the dev.

I've been doing everything on each phone when I flash. But would it work if I only flash once, do a nand backup, and restore that backup on all the phones (I have 4 Evos to maintain)? Or would it just be better to flash them all?

APPS ON THE SD CARD

The app's ability to be moved to the SD card comes from the developer. I'm sure we're going to see lots of updates in the coming days.
You do not have to partition your card.
SOME apps will cue you when you download from the Market asking for an install location.
Some can be moved after the fact. Menu/Settings/Applications/Manage applications/find the app/click move to SD if it's available.
Barcode scanner-it will dl directly to the phone and then it can be moved to the card.

i found something problably could be because the app does not run on Froyo i got some apps on my email and when im trying to add on my phone show me this error there is a poblem parsing the package

One question:

Does Wireless Tether work under this Froyo version of OMJ?

I'm not budging off 1.8 till I see a consensus on Wireless Tether - I'm a low risk kind of guy.
