[QUOTE=OMJ;2061772]sooooo, using aamikam latest odexed base is like starting from scratch cuz it's all stock.....the last few of my releases kept his structure of moving alot of apps, wallpapers etc to sdcard.
I was thinking of doing the same just not sure what to keep & what to move.....personally I don't care, I could leave it all in the ROM and it wouldn't make a difference to me. If I didn't move apps to sd, I would still delete the sprint bloatware & other junk.....not sure about the wallpapers & ringtones/notifications......thoughts? I'm happy with stock minus STD's |

Hey OMJ or anyone, have you tried the HDMI out mirroring app that was released. Not sure if it is official or just beta, but I was wondering what you thought if you tried it.

Thanks OMJ. I was just curious. It seems promising, but was wondering if you thought it was worth it to DL outside of your ROM

Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.2 Custom ROM v4.5 | FroYo 3.70.651.1 | *Updated 1/23/11*
My two cents . . .
I REALLY like having the walpapers and tones on the SD card. Maybe I'm just super utilitarian, but if I don't use them I want them off my phone, and having them on the SD makes that so much easier. It is my impression that the free space on the internal memory serves as the cache, so more free space on the internal means more cache means things run a bit zippier, no? |

5 hours off the charger and down to 28%.
I've never flashed a kernel but if that's what makes the difference than com'on! lol maybe it has to do with the 160 installed apps. I gotta change something! |
Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.2 Custom ROM v4.5 | FroYo 3.70.651.1 | *Updated 1/23/11*
With 160 installed apps I can guarantee you that is your problem.
Try AutoRun Manager and AutoKiller Memory Optimizer to see which one you like best. This will help a little. Don't expect 30% increase but it does help. With those two programs you see what is constantly running and you get to kill them until you need them. Sometimes an app will be running in the background for no reason, you use the programs above to stop them from starting until you need them. YES those two programs run in the background but if you are killing more then three constant running programs you are ahead of the game. With 160 installed apps, I'm sure you'll find 80 or more to kill. |

Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.2 Custom ROM v4.5 | FroYo 3.70.651.1 | *Updated 1/23/11*
Hey OMJ. First of all, thank you so much for all the work you put into this ROM. I have been using your ROM's since 2.1 / v1.3 and I love it! I've tried 4 or 5 different ones and in my experience nothing compares to the work you do.
Unfortunately I ran into some issues with 4.5 and I'm hoping you can point me in the right direction. I checked the last few pages of posts and can't find anything similar. Congrats on the new laptop by the way. :) I've been trying to get it to work since you released it and been going back and forth between it and 4.0, since that was the version I upgraded from that worked. Thank you nandroid! I have tried with no wipes, with full wipes, factory, cache, delvik and I get the same results every time. 1) ADB is not able to connect. If it does, it disconnects within a minute 2) USB Debugging doesn't work. Which is probably the cause of #1. Except for the rare few seconds when it does work. However, I never get the icon for it. 3) Stay awake doesn't work 4) 4G never locks. Always searching. Any thoughts on what could be going on? Could it be do to not flashing any builds between 4.0 and 4.5? Or maybe cause I went from odexed to deodexed? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. |

Alright thanks guys. I'm gonna try flashing a kernel. This is the one I'm gonna try. I'll wipe dalvik and cache and flash and reboot. Anything else I should know? Does it have settings to mess with or should it just do its magic in the backround?

Sweet. I flashed to his mikfroyo v4.5 and it was cool for a bit, but I ended up flashing back to OMJ a few days ago. Mikfroyo took too long to boot up and became glitchy after a while. Have never had that issue with an OMJ rom.

Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.2 Custom ROM v4.5 | FroYo 3.70.651.1 | *Updated 1/23/11*
Sorry if this info is already posted somewhere. I've been using Mikfroyo v4.5 with 4x5 layout. It works fine, but battery life hasn't been steller. But really no issues otherwise.
Probably going to downgrade to 1.77 Pri and see if that helps. I noticed awhile back my coverage/signal seemed wacky/worse. Would OMJ be more efficient? And can I use 4x5 layout (how?) with OMJ? Thanks for any info... |

OMJ_EVO_2.2_Froyo_v4.5_deodexed.zip booted and made sure it all worked... then: MikFroYo-Rotary-LockScreen-signed.zip update-4x5-Widgets-IncrediblyRe-Engineered-v2.3.zip MikFroYoFix_4.5_Flat_Black_4x5_Rosie_Workspace-signed.zip (I might try again without this). 4x5 looks okay, and I now have the original HTC Sense Rosie Dock back instead of the one in the Mikfroyo ROM. I have a couple goofie status icons, but I can live with it for now. Here's to hoping 2.3 comes out soon!! :) |

Thanks for your response OMJ. I tried that. In fact, I tried going back to 4.0, doing a wipe, then flashing 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4 and 4.5 in order. When I got to 4.3 it started to fail again. Maybe I need to flash a new base ROM? Can you recommend one please? I have the one I got from PPCG way back when you guys made the ROM's available. It's the stock rooted version. Is there an update to it perhaps? |

Just do a full wipe and flash 4.5. That's it. It is weird that you can flash 4.2 but then no others. You may have said it before but what recovery are you on? What may help is to use Calk's Format All zip. It cleans you out good :) Flash it then the ROM. If you are super paranoid flash it twice then the ROM. Attachment 82414 I assume you did a re-download from the first time you had issues with 4.5? If not grab a fresh copy. If you still have trouble you may want to try an SD card format, load only the 4.5 ROM zip and then flash. Backup your SD first ;) Good luck. |

@iknowsquat: Thanks, I'll try that. I'm ready for some cleansing. Although I just dropped gingerbread on, and...O MA GOD!!! Highly recommend to anyone looking for something new and fun. I think I'll nand it then wipe. Oh, I have the original recovery. Don't remember the version, but it's the one that uses the batch file.
