I'm ready to flash anytime, because my phone's a little flaky currently, so if you think you have a good stable rom, let's light this baby up! You have tried it on your old diamond, right? Hopefully I'm not the first guinea pig! If I do have problems I'll probably reflash with an older DRB 21887 I've been thinking about for 5 months but never tried, so I might only have one good test slot for you (I don't have any spare phones and I really can't afford much downtime). If yours runs well, I'll keep running it until I find any fatal flaws, but hopefully it will be rock solid for months (or I install something that breaks it)!

So far, so good. As I've told you in the past, I don't use titanium or other sliding home pages, I use HTCHOME2 and I've got it all configured. I was surprised the start was in the top left, I thought it was going to be on the bottom left. I was also surprised how much you have loaded, opera, bing, etc. I was hoping for opera with a zoom wheel, it didn't seem to work for that, is there a way to make it work like that? I also loaded bing 3 already because I like the navigation feature in it. Haven't had any problems yet, so I'll just keep plugging along. Thanks again. Seems zippy! lots of free memory, I'm showing 58M storage free, 100M program.

Yeah it runs good. I honestly built the ROM for my use only and I thought you might wanna see if it worked for your needs but yeah it runs good and still has plenty of space. I am thinking of leaning it down some for a 6.5.5 ROM. I know you hate flashing but wanted I could try it up.

Re: Obviously Stable ROM | Updated 12/25 | All Carriers | 21876 | 25MB PP Titanium/SP
I found twice yesterday that my phone was off in my pocket, not sure why. I installed lockdevice1.6 after that and it hasn't happened since, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=542482 .
I like having the time in the taskbar all the time, but that seems mutually exclusive with the battery indicator. I like both including the 1% increments on the power. Any chance you could make that happen? In terms of leaning it down, do you notice any change in performance when you run things from internal storage instead of main? I would think ideally you would want to run as much as possible from internal storage (unless you see speed degradation due to differing access speeds) but of course that would mean they wouldn't be on the rom, probably sashimi installed to internal storage instead. I would think that could make a blazing fast system with massive free memory. I would therefore, leave out all the big programs you typically run and have cab's for windows live, bing, google maps, opera, even IE & office if you have cabs for them (I don't). Have you tried bing3? I love the navigation feature, it's the only free talking navigation software I've found! Just so I know, is this rom 6.5 or 6.5.x? It's been so long since I flashed, I'm so confused! I'm liking it though! Last edited by etski; 06-30-2010 at 04:23 PM. |

The only advantage I could think of is maybe a huger page pool if you install everything to the IS. I could probably remove a few things yeah but I would leave IE for sure and Office. And this is 6.5. I can make a 6.5.5 possibly. Who knows?

Re: Obviously Stable ROM | Updated 12/25 | All Carriers | 21876 | 25MB PP Titanium/SP
I'd give 6.5.5 a shot if you think it's pretty stable and not bleeding edge. I was used to the start in the bottom left from DRB's rom, I think it might have been 6.5.3 looking back. I do like the quickmenu upper right pulldown do close tasks and that was always hinky on DRB's rom, I do think that's a 6.5.x thing. I customized your 6.5 pretty quick with sashimi, so I'd give 6.5.5 a go. I'd love to try one without windows live, bing, google maps or opera installed so I can put them all on internal storage. I agree IE & office would be good to have on the rom (especially since I don't have cabs for them), as well as all the other goodies you had in the 6.5 like flashlight, spb screenshot, youtube, etc. But anything really big I'd rather run from internal storage if you have cabs for them.
No rush, this rom has been running smooth, since I put the lockdevice1.6 on, it has not again turned off in my pocket, so I guess it's just my pocket, not the rom! I have had a minor glitch or 2 where I couldn't get in to messaging or maybe something else too, but a soft reset fixed it up. Otherwise, looking and running well ! Thanx ! ! ! |
