1) Is there an option somewhere to set how many days of emails to keep on the phone? The shipped rom has this option in the email account setup dialogs. I have over 10000 emails spanning several years, don't want them all to download to my phone!
This hasn't changed. Just go to start, messaging, menu, options, click on email accout, hit next, and look for a place to change "download the past". It differs if using exchange vs IMAP, etc. You'll have to look and figure it out.

2) Do we know yet how to move the email storage location for WM6.5 to the Storage Card? I have tried the regedit that was working in the shipped rom, but emails are still being stored in \Windows\Messaging.
not sure, you can change attachment storage in start, messaging, menu, options, storage.

3) Looking for a task manager option to set applications to close on X rather than minimize. Holding down X does not exit an application either, so I see the only way to completely close an app is to open the task manager and close the app?
Some choices for 6.5.x:

For 6.5, HTCTaskmanager works.

4) GoogleMaps gps is way off. Thinks I'm in San Diego when I'm in Los Angeles. The weather app picked my city correctly though, so not sure why google maps is not.

5) GoogleMaps seems to be installed to the device, not the Storage Card. On this device we all have 4 gigs of internal storage, why not use it? All that cache data eats up available memory quickly.
It's probably an error with google's servers, not the program on your phone. Try it in a different area. For 5, you cannot cook a program in the ROM that will be on the storage card/internal storage. Even if you did have it install to internal storage during customization, the cab itself would be cooked into /windows negating any space saved.

Geez man, the long multi-part question was answered but my probably relatively simple question about finger menus was ignored?! I know know... I'm whining.

There's a Manilla Locker RC 2.1?

Thanks, wouldn't have found that without your help. I was trying to get there from the manila interface which doesn't show all the options.

Looks like after a few soft resets the WM6.1 regedit is working!

Thanks for the choices. I was wondering if there was a way to just edit the taskmanager that's already included? Anybody know which taskmanager is built into this release?

Bummer. I don't really see how it can be a problem on the google server, if my previous version of googlemaps worked fine. I wish there was some way to remove and reinstall it, but its cooked in...

if anyone else needs this

regedit on the phone

HKLM - System - Inbox - Settings

created a string called "PropertyPath" without the quotes
the value will be \Internal Storage\folder of your choice\

if you have attachments saved to the internal storage you will see a value called "AttachPath" you can also change this to something else.

Diamonds called their memory "Internal Storage" Other devices also use "Storage Card" use whatever matches your device.

Mystery, Sent you a PM on the Yearly Reminder/Birthday/anniversary contact/appt problem. Figured out that it is something that was broken with the original Sprint Rom too....

I loaded this patch from MS with a blank phone before Activesync and now everything is fine:
