I'm just surprised they even developed it for the diamond2 when the pro2 is much more popular and on every US carrier, and the only "diamond2" in the U.S. is the imagio

internationally I'm not sure the d2 did all that well, they probably have more diamonds and pros in circulation, or did I miss the big D2 wave that swept every nation?

OMJ - quick questions for you

I have your Sense 2.5 28014 v1.5 installed on my Diamond. After flashing, I have a couple of weird things happening.

1. I remember you discussing this issue with somebody but I am unable to find the post. Whenever there is an incoming call and slide the slider to pick it up, it seems to not pick up and I have to press the hard button Pick Up call a few times in succession and hope that it will pick up. Can you guide me how to correct this??

2. My google maps is not using GPS to identify my location but seems to just triangulate my position based on cell towers. I have checked the menu options in google maps but there is no option to "Use GPS". I used to have that option before I flashed and so I know it is there. Can you tell me how I can rectify this ??

3. My phone seems to be getting slower and the my storage memory keeps on getting used up. When I flashed the phone with your ROM, I had about 20 - 25 MB free and Now I only have about 6MB.. Do tell me what I should do to regain the memory

Thanks in advance for your help and I look forward to flashing my phone again when you get the latest Sense ported over to VGA.

Have you tried running the CleanRAM option that has been added to the ROM?

If that didn't work, I would suggest clearing storage, flashing back to stock and then re-applying the 1.5 (or 1.6, which is great).

That's very strange. Are you using the version of Google Maps that comes with the ROM? I am, and I see the Use GPS option still.

In the latest version of Google Maps, they moved the Use GPS option into a submenu, but that one's tower triangulation is broken, so that doesn't seem like it could be your problem either.

Hey dude, I installed 1.6 and seems to be nice and faster, I´ve tried to install all the patches to get extra shortcuts ( x16, x20, x25) but when I install them I cant get it to work because the last row isto low, I think is because the calendar ramains on the top, aditionally when I install any of those patches the manila lock gets disabled

Yeah I am using the version that came with the OMJ ROM. The only options that I am getting are: Search; Get Directions; Layers; Latitude; Show Traffic; Satellite View & Clear Map. There is no Use GPS option that I can see.

Can I download and install Googlemaps again on top of this installation or will it eat up more of my memory ??

CleanRAM only cleans Program Memory - It does not touch Storage Memory.. I don't know how to keep the storage memory high too..

For cleaning main storage memory, ClearTemp works well to help regain some precious space, plus it's freeware. Other good programs include MemMaid and SKtools, both have quick cleaning options that work great, but neither of these are free. Also, you can use Total Commander (included with OMJ's ROM) or Resco File Explorer (not included payware) to manually go into Application Data\HTC\HTC Album\Cache and delete the large thumbnail and IC_C files. Doing this saves me around 8 to 10 MB's temporarily. I stress "temporarily" as these files will reload next time you use HTC Album to view your thumbnails or images. On that note, I have even gone as far as using the the Resco Photo Manager Manila hack to force Sense to use Resco as much as possible, in order to keep the HTC Album application data cache more manageable. Further, you can also use SKtools to move many programs and folders over to Internal Storage. Sktools will correct the registry and install data during the move for many programs. Please note that you can not move application data to internal storage, but moving everything feasible really helps keep your limited main storage memory from getting critically low.

Best to all,
R

All you have to do is scroll down. There are more options hidden. Just flick the screen up and you will see the Use GPS function.

Thanks Rhacy - I have been installing all my apps into internal storage to save space. I have been doing the HTC Album cache delete and as you said it only works temporarily. I guess there is no way to avoid the small storage memory. I will try out SKtools and see how that works out.

Your welcome chickmagloor. I'm still looking for a solution in regard to getting low on main storage memory with 6.5.3 Sense 2.5 ROMs. I think the only way to achieve it, less leaving out many programs and games I like, would be to cook my own ultra light version with OMJ's Kitchen and cab install everything to internal storage, or maybe try PMD's ROM. PMD's has about 15 MB's extra main storage memory after a flash, plus Manila TV. That said, I really like OMJ's 6.5.3 Sense 2.5 ROM on my spare Diamond. It's been working great for about 10 days now here, and the look and feel is incredibly tasteful. Moreover, I doubt I could cook anything close to as nice myself. Maybe when the Topaz Sense 2.5 is ported over to VGA, it will be a little lighter and help with the limited main storage space. Hoping so at least....

Best to all,
R

I've never commented in a forum...I usually just read through it and my questions are answered but I have a problem with my phone. Im running sense 2.5 v 1.6 and I have Manilla Locker enabled it works fine but after a soft reset I try to lock my phone and the Manilla Locker comes up but its under the WM toolbar at the bottom so I can never unlock the phone w/o another soft reset. And after I do that I have to disable Manilla Locker. can anyone help me with this.

P.S. this has happened a lot ever since I started running Manilla Locker. Attached is a screen of what it looks like.

Hi Everyone,

I'm using 6.5.3 21887 rom. Can anyone tell me how to adjust the main memory between storage and program? The old OS can do it, but now with 6.5.3, I don't know where to do that. I constantly get low storage memory warning.

Thanks

It has not possible reallocate program memory since WM2003 and earlier versions. With Windows Mobile 5 and later builds, main program memory is not persistent memory any longer, it's like the RAM on your PC. So a soft-reset or a dead battery will erase everything in main program memory. In turn, there's no way that I'm aware of to reallocate it.

On that note, if you click on my nick name at the top of this post, you should be able to find my previous posts about trying to save the Diamond's limited main program storage when using WM6.5.3 and Sense 2.5. In short, using ClearTemp and other software, plus moving programs, folders, and files, as well as other helpful tips are all in those posts.

Best to all,
R

I noticed on the HTC site that they have a TELUS Touch Diamond SMS Date Hotfix. Visit the HTC canada web site, click support, pick the Diamond for Telus, then click the Downloads tab.

Would this hotfix only work for the stock ROM, or do you think it will work in yours? Or do you think that its just changing the registry setting that others have posted as a workaround for this bug.

it probably does more than just the reg edit....I would try it & if it negatively affects the ROM, then hard reset.

I thought that the registry-based date fix is already in OMJ's ROM. What would the benefit of this be over that?

I have not seen either of these issues.....sounds like a bad flash, sometimes u will have funky things like this happen w/ a bad flash....you can first try to hard reset or clear storage. If the issue persists, flash back to stock, then flash my custom rom again.

I'm following the developments here on this thread. It's where all the porting action is happening in bringing the new Sense 2.5 2011.3030 over to VGA. When all that porting is done, then I'm guessing OMJ will release the new set of ROMs.

I took OMJ's advice and flashed back to stock and then back to his rom to see if I could fix some errors... When I try to load MSN messenger, i get this error:

'WLMMessenger' is not a valid Pocket PC Application

Anybody else getting this error? Any fixes?
