Is there a Touch Pro version of this ROM? I like these on my Diamond & regular Touch...

sorry, no TP version....but you could download my kitched, add the TP folders from Calkulins kitchen, then use my template to cook one

I installed the ripped version form the Samsung intrepid but it doesn't seem to recognize anything I say. If someone has a link to a known working version, please post it. Thank you.

I used it when it first came out, it worked ok, but not as good as I thought.

If I remember correctly, OMJ explained this behavior many pages back. It's due to no other programs running at the time you try to open the task switcher. To clarify, if you having an additional application open, the task switcher stays open and works as intended (at least here with 28014 v1.5 Sense 2.5).

Best to all,

yep, the task mgr only opens when there is a app running....every once in awhile it will open when there is none.

OMJ, 1.6 is PHENOMENAL!!!...seriously without a doubt, the best ever. I was completely ecstatic when someone called me and the facebook profile pics are now displaying!!! WHOA. I didn't know this was even fixed, unless I missed it somewhere. The one and only issue I see and it's not even that big of a deal is the slow text entry still in Opera, but other than that not a single other hick up or problem yet!

thx....I changed to the Leo dialer in v1.5, that fixed the FB integration, but the 1 downside is that it breaks the data arrows....they stay active, but data is really not running all the time. v1.6 came from my rebuilt kitchen which seems more stable.

First I just wanted to say thanks for the great ROM.

My only problem is with psShutXP. Sometimes when I choose 'Shutdown' it doesn't actually shut the phone off, but rather just the screen. I've done a bunch of searching and found that others have the same problem.

Is there a way to just disable psShutXP (i.e. remove it from the long press power key)? I would like to keep the app since its useful to run on its own for the reset, etc.

Thanks

one question i have is more about flashing than the rom itself, but as i have tried several rom's in the past few days, i've noticed that when i reflash to another rom when i sync my contacts from WMD it automatically puts people into the slots as my favorites, but it's the same people as i had selected before. this makes me think that when i flash , there is some info being left behind? something has to tell the new software what contacts to put where....

so i guess my question is, does that seem like a problem, that i am getting some carry over info (files) left, when i flash to another rom?

I believe that manila (sense) adds some additional fields into your contacts, such as a category (HTC Favourite) and some stuff inside notes.

When you backup and restore it is putting it back in after you flash.

I believe this is less the case of there being left over stuff with the ROM Flash and more that there is manila stuff being readded with the contact.

no, this is intentional. Sense adds code to the contact that it's a fav

well if you're running good, and the fix's I made to those apps you dont use....then you may not gain anything....but I can say, just from cooking this rom from my rebuilt kitchen, it is running much better....v1.5 I had an occasional issue where the phone would not wake up, I have not had that issue since rebuilding.

If anyone is interested in a working custom Taskbar for OMJ's 28014 v1.5 Sense 2.5 ROM, as well as a fix for the taskbar bluetooth icon not displaying when no headset is active, please continue reading this post.

First off, all credit goes to aluke @ XDA Developers! Here's a link to his kind custom taskbar work:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=578403

In the first post of aluke's thread, download and install the 6.5.1 taskbar V6.cab file, then install his aluke BluetoothIconNotifier.cab, making sure to soft reset after running the BT.cab. Please note that if you do not want the custom taskbar, the BluetoothIconNotifier.cab may fix the no bluetooth icon display issue on it's own in OMJ's 28014 v1.5 Sense 2.5 ROM. Please also note, I can not verify the BT fix myself, as I had already installed aluke's custom taskbar before trying the BT display fix.

Attached is a screen shot of my Sense 2.5 home page, with aluke's custom taskbar, as well as the bluetooth icon display without any headset attached.

Hope this helps...
Best to all,
R

I just installed OMJ's ROM from MightyROM. OMJ's ROM is sooooo much faster. Not dissing Mighty at all, but I couldn't use the internet on that ROM without wanting to throw my phone out the window.

Can I ask what you guys use as a file explorer on OMJ's ROM? The only thing I've found is the TotalCommander. Was that what was intended?

As an aside, how do you guys synchronize your phones so the you don't end up with a bajillion duplicates in your calendar, contacts, etc??

I use TotalCommander, nice and powerful and ugly.

When I sync my calendar/contacts using Activesync with Gmail, it doesn't duplicate anything. I'm not exactly sure why yours is duplicating things.

I totally agree on the awesomeness of OMJ's ROM. My girlfriend had a Touch Pro, and I installed Ski ROM, which is kinda like the Touch Pro version of OMJ's, awesome and well put together. Now she upgraded to a Touch Pro 2, and I can't find a good ROM on it for her. All of the name brand ROM makers like Mighty and NRG are there, but they spread themselves so thin between devices and versions of their ROMs. Using her Touch Pro 2 really makes me miss OMJ's (and Ski's) ROM.

Yes, this is correct. Check the Notes section of your contacts (at least in Outlook) and you'll see coding for Facebook integration and HTC Sense integration (like fav's, among others...).

To answer my own question, and hopefully for the benefit of others, yes it is possible to receive TMC info on our Diamonds*.

You need to get HyperGPS here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=512630

(which will allow the phone to pickup the TMC data from the FM transmissions.)

Then, follow the instructions for setting up that tool to work with igo8.

*Then you need to get a $50 license for North american traffic (doesn't seem to be any way around this).

Quote:

Thanks to myndwire and others mentioned below, I now have TMC Pro/Premium working on my i910 Omnia in North America ($50 for Canada and USA). Here are the basics:
1) Verizon Samsung i910 Omnia using recent CF03-based gps-unlocked firmware (see MoDaCo.com, thanks to BlazingWolf);
2) OmniaTMC beta2 (see MoDaCo.com, thanks to BeamRider);
3) iGo8 8.3.2.93112 (see ppcwarez.org, thanks to JetMouse);
4) Add "enable_subscription=1" (without quotes) to [tmc] section of sys.txt;
5) Copy current uuid from igo8 subscription field (note that this may change on hard reset, I'd SAVE IT);
6) Pay $50 for North American Total Traffic Network (TTN) Subscription from Clarion (see https://cart.buytmc.com/subscribe);
7) Backup everything from igo8 folder on device (or at least igo8\save\cctmc.dat).

Notes:
A) I have not tried a hard reset yet to see if I can recover (since the uuid would probably change), but I'm hopeful that it wouldn't matter as long as the above cctmc.dat stays in place or gets restored.
B) The $50 Clarion subscription does not seem to expire as long as ClearChannel continues to transmit RDS-TMC in North America, the uuid resetting issue notwithstanding.
http://forum.ppcwarez.org/viewtopic....lit=cctmc.dat#

And then you should have working TMC traffic updates in Igo8!

1) Can anyone please confirm that the "Turn speaker on when device is placed face down during call" is not operational for our phones? I tried the feature and it did't work (i'm guessing you need a front facing camera?)

2) Similarly I tried the "quiet ringtone on pickup" feature and I don't think it worked either. (I had my ring set to the loudest and when I picked up the phone it still kept ringing at full volume.) Is the broken ?

3) Conference calling, does it work for our phones? I tried it out, it dialed the first number fine, then when I dialed the second number Im not really sure what happened, but it didn't connect.

no, no & yes

the newer phones (like the TP2) have a sensor for these features....conf (3-way calling) does work. I just tried it. I 1st dialed my landline, then called my VM by highlighting it from call history, once it connected, I pressed the hard send button to join calls

Ah thanks for clearing that up. I tried it again and 3 party conference call worked. However, i couldn't add more parties. So this conference calling can only support 3 parties (yourself, other and other) unless I am doing something wrong (which could easily be the case! hehe).

Here's a folder containing 9 CDMA Phone Code short cuts.

AKEY
PREV
VOCODER
DATA
PRL
DEBUG
PST
DIAG
RTN

I added it to the system tools folder. Personally I only ever use PST and DEBUG, but having these short cuts makes it a lot easier than remembering and typing in phone codes. Plus it only takes up 245 BYTES! Maybe we could get these cooked into the ROM OMJ?

Does anyone else experience some finnikey behaviour from the task switcher (when you press on the small clock in the top right)? My task switcher will often fail to open, it will show an outline and then disappear. Other times it will open without issue.

Ok, so yesterday I went on a short trip relying on GoogleMaps for directions. I didn't see the option to check "Use GPS". GoogleMaps was working but not that great. What is GoogleMaps using when GPS isn't being used? Cell phone tower triangulation? I thought there was something wrong with GoogleMaps.

Apparently there's a new version of Manila 2.5 out (2011) that is from a build for the Diamond 2. NRG has a ROM out for the Touch Pro 2 that has it, and people say that it's much faster, since it was designed for a device with the same CPU as ours.

Apparently there's a new version of Manila 2.5 out (2011) that is from a build for the Diamond 2. NRG has a ROM out for the Touch Pro 2 that has it, and people say that it's much faster, since it was designed for a device with the same CPU as ours.

it still has to be ported to VGA for us to use...

yeah... its real... and actually u can get it running on vga... but obviously not perfect since some files still need to be ported.
amarulz is already working on it...
it is much...much faster then any other version of 2.5 since its modified for a phone with a processor like ours. apparently landscape support is there and the only two things that some people complain its missing is footprint and doc tabs... which is basically perfect for us since we never use those anyways.
right now im trying to get all those other 2011 packages to work

Is there a way to turn off the birthday reminders? My birthdays in Outlook have no reminder yet the phone chooses to remind me. Is this part of the ROM?

I haven't been following this thread too much lately, but what are the changes for the 1/29 Sense 2.5 release? I noticed the change log hasnt been updated since December.

so HTC came out with an official sense 2.5 for the diamond2? I'm still finding this hard to believe, seems like this would have been a major announcement, and why the diamond2? does anyone even have that device? seems like they would have done it to the pro2, a device people actually use...

do you have a link for this?

It's not actually out yet I think. It may be a leak?
