Hello. At first I was nervous, afraid I'd brick my phone but I am SO much happier now running OMJ's rom and I can't believe I suffered with the stock sprint rom for
so long! THANK YOU OMJ!

I am using OMJ_Diamond_Sense_2.5_2012_23544_v1.1
I like RSS Hub so after searching I found a cab and installed it. It works but it's saving the podcast files and I'm running out of memory, is there a way to have it save the downloaded files to internal storage card?

Thanks rhacy and mwalt. I ended up hard resetting my phone while I was at work. I would have tried to fix it but my phone was running kind of slow after it froze the first time with the weather. It's back to normal now.

Thanks again guys.

got a weird bug on the OMJ_Diamond_Sense_2.5_2012_23541_v1.2 build:

I believe the Nikoan89 keyboard is installed (if not install it) but to activate the phonepad you need to use the registry. Get something like PHMRegedit and goto the following:

1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > HTC > ezsip
2. Change the registry: BioToShowMenu to 1 (decimal) and hit ok
3. The menu with all the keyboard options should appear and then just select Phonepad

Even under Settings > Personal > Input it might read as full qwerty but the phonepad is being used and you can change settings without it reverting back. The full qwerty still does very rarely pop-up on certain things such as filtering for a contact, or some password fields which in most cases is more suitable anyways but it will usually bring up the phonepad. Also T9 works and you might want to change the setting of ABC word completion on in input settings so that you can update your dictionary.

Not a huge surprise. Android looks to have much more for those of us that want to endlessly tweak our phone than WinMo 7 will. I can't wait to get my Evo as well and I'll be looking forward to following you there. Thanks for keeping my Diamond rockin' much longer than it would have!

I knew this day would come eventually, as all good things must come to an end. I thank you for your contributions thus far and thank you for any future updates before you make the leap. Cheers =D>

Now onto more mundane issues, I tried to use My Phone and discovered that it won't let me sync because there is a new update available (1.6.2718 I think). However, the update fails to install, I assume, due to My Phone being cooked into the ROM.

Kind of lame of Microsoft to leave you with no way of synching when there's a newer version out.

So I suggest in order to make this ROM more future-proof, to remove My phone from being cooked in, so that it can update as it pleases. People will just have to install it via a cab.

EDIT:

Here's an official link to the new My Phone 01.06.22718.0001
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...2-b27758721aa8

edit2: my mistake, i didnt haveenough stoarge space. after freeing some up it worked.

Hey OMJ, Just wondering, who did you ask that gave you permission to switch? did you get a second opinion on your answer? did either of those people (I'm assuming they are human) know what they were talking about? maybe before you make such a harsh decision you should take a pole, and then take a pole on that pole to make sure that it was a valid pole.... Maybe what you could do, instead of switching to the EVO, you could add one to your account and keep both phones, and if you don't feel like carrying both phones at all times, I'm sure you can use call forwarding on the EVO so you could leave it at home and just use the diamond, better yet, use call forwarding on the EVO to the Diamond, then turn the power off on the EVO and put it somewhere safe and don't even touch it, that would save you a bunch of $$ each year on your electric bill with trying to keep 2 phones charged at all times

so, for the serious question, once you do leave, you do know that other roms will start to pass your rom with the changes and updates, if you had your choice, which cook and rom would you eventually switch to?

I'm with you. By the time this phone is released, I'll have had my Diamond for almost two years. More than any other phone I've had. I'll probably wait just a little bit to see if the price goes down (and let others work out the bugs), but this is definitely on my "to get" list.

OMJ, really appreciate all of the hard work you've done for us. I've been using your ROMS exclusively for quite some time now. I as well will be moving to the Android platform shortly. The day the HTC Incredible is released I will be at the store waiting to be the first one to get it here.

Having that said, I'd just like to point out an issue with the latest 23541 ROM. I've noticed that when I am tethering via USB with my Bluetooth turned on it will not work. I have to turn off BT before the tethering will work. Don't know if this is a known issue or not, so sorry if it is.

All three of you guys... if you want to use the 2.1 here is a little program to throw in your start menu so you don't have to do the reg edit (i think its just a little exe/script that does the same thing temporarily)

Can you no longer silence the ring/vibrate on a call (by hitting the volume button)? I don't want to move the slider to "ignore" because then the person knows you ignored them. (I'm on 23541 v1.2)

re: moving to Android and the Evo: i'm afraid of sketchy battery life issues that i've heard about android, google knowing too much about me, and the cost of a new plan. a 4.3" screen is also way too big for my tight jean pockets.

For those of you having trouble getting the notification bar at the top to register, I find that I have the most consistent success by pressing the upper left of the screen, where the old Start button used to be (this is for the 6.5.x ROMs). This usually pulls down the more finger friendly notification bar. Just an FYI.

As for my question... does anybody know of any good tweaks for Opera Mobile on the Diamond? It works okay, but I've noticed that when I use the back button, it doesn't feel like it's pulling from cache and instead trying to reload the entire previous page. I looked in opera:config, but there are about 20,000 different configurable settings and I have no clue what to look for. Any tips?

Hope to see you OMJ and everyone else as well on EVO side, lol... On that note, we still have a couple months to wait, but it's great to see Sprint finally stepping up with some more than competitive hardware. Just wish they would put out a WM6.5.x HD2 variant. Regardless, Android looks like it's maturing very quickly, and it should be an excellent alternative to WM. Nonetheless, I've been using WM since the 6600/6700 days, and I'm sure it will be missed for some activesync work nausea, as well as for some specific applications in the short term, no matter how sweet Android turns out to be. Heck, for work, I'll probably keep at least a Diamond or TP2 on one line and the EVO on another, at least for a little while. That said, the processor speed, RAM, ROM, and screen size will be an incredible leap forward from the Diamond, and well worth any trade offs, to say the least.

Thanks again OMJ for all your help and top quality ROM and Kitchen contributions.
Cheers,
R

I have a lot of trouble answering phone calls or using the dialpad sometimes because the black bar at the bottom is on top of them. Basically, it's scary when I have just a few pixels to use the slider to answer a call...

Also, I have strange pauses with this ROM. v1.3 of the previous 6.5 build was blazing fast and after the initial load had no laginess, but now I get regular intermittent freezes. Anyone else having these problems? If I can't fix them I will probably have to go back to the previous (21887)...

check this reg setting...if it's not there, add it.....this is something I just recently was made aware of, and it may not be in that rom.

Code:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\PreloadModules\phcanImage2]
"Module"="\\windows\\phcanImages2.dll"
"Order"=dword:000000ff

Ya, make sure you get some live wallpapers. Although they will be obviously better and no bugs on your EVO. And also make sure you try some games, the accelerometer ones work so nice on the Diamond, on the EVO, they would be crazily amazing. I wished they released the EVO in my area.

The issues that i've run into are:

1. Camera not working
2. No GPS
3. Power sucking like you wouldn't believe
4. So far most apps require access to online(all add supported) and don't necessarily shut down completely, lots of things running in background, all of which lead to the battery sucking.
5. Accidentally opening the wrong app while trying to scroll down to the right one, of course this one may just be me!
