Hey OMJ, I had a weird problem with the latest and previous WM 6.5 rom; my calls did not ring. I think it had to do with Windows Live, but I'm not sure. I could get the contacts I had as favorites to ring, by assigning each a ringtone, but the rest did not ring. I copied a .mp3 ringtone to the phone itself and assigned it as the default tone, but nothing. SMS are working great, and everything else too. I'm gonna format the internal storage this time when I flash the stock rom, and try the WM6.5.1 version

I used to use TouchPal and still can go fast, but it's kinda painful to use sometimes. But I'm getting pretty good at using FingerKeyboard and EzInput. I got a cool BigKeys layout that I ported from WVGA that goes with FK good. :D

But yeah I think until the SMS client can be perfected leaving that and Footprints out would make a perfect ROM.

Hi OMJ, gotta tell you. this rom is lights out good. the new port is getting better and better. only issues are texting and footprints that I can see. also windows live setup which is an easy work around. regarding texting, I agree the htc manilla client is very nice and would love to see it work if you can do it! whichever way you decide :) Kitchen would be much appreciated by all of us! Thanks again for this great rom. You are giving this diamond some life so we can all wait for the hd2...lol.

this includes titanium right (some people have been leaving out titanium)?

what texting issues and windows live issues does this have exactly?

Hello, were is the sys folder located? I've looked all over... I'm also getting some errors and would like to overwrite the files but cant find the right folder...

Also getting some problems adding new appointments, when I go to change the time the new "scroll wheel" thing pops up but when I scroll it it gets all messed up visually. I was still able to manage to fumble my way thru it and add the time correctly. sure this has been brought up in the Sense dev thread but just wanted to point it out.

That package is for a kitchen when cooking your own ROM and was in reply to OMJ. If you want a netcf3.5 cab, I think riley posted on a few pages back or you can probably google and find one.

The scrolling is because of the version of HTCFramework cooked into the ROM. A different version/package of it might solve the problem, but would probably be best if cooked into the ROM.

3 posts and the resolution to the problems: for 21870 release. i heard texting and .net is fine in 23506.

That texting workaround really screwed things up on mine. It got me the windows mobile client back but no threading and horrible UI. I think having WM client cooked in may be only good fix. The Manila SMS is great, but you can't use MMS.

K, one more stupid question...
I like to put almost everything in the start menu into one folder, and just keep the apps I install & use at the root of the menu. I cant seem to get rid of the HTC People & HTC Calendar shortcuts, they come back (without icons which is even worse haha) every time I reset...Really why would anyone hit the start menu to get to a tab thats on your home screen blows my mind but who knows maybe someone does use these shortcuts.
The rest of the HTC shortcuts moved without a hitch...

ok, ok.....a rom w/ no manila messaging client. so I beleive if I leave out HTCMessage, HTCMessaging_Client, Message_Enhancement, and of course footprints...that should take care of it....hmmm, now which SYS to use...

personaly i love the HTC messaging client and will give of the abilitly to use MMS to use it. I dont hardly use an MMS anyways so its not that big of a sacrifice.

yes, its not ideal but at least we can send and receive text messages. before I could only receive them. Regarding threaded messages, is this what you are talking about. if I hit all messages on the txt message (tftab), I can see multiple messages on one screen. pic attached. I will take form over function if it works but would like to see manilla(htc messaging client) tab work as well.

I love it too, but with my fam scattered everywhere we use MMS quite often, plus we pay for it with our plan and I want to get my money's worth. Maybe one day we can get the MMS working with Alltel, ect... Someone a lot smarter than me will have to figure that one out.

Thank you for taking suggestions OMJ, that's part of what makes your ROM even better. Definitely the best I've ever had on my diamond and bringing it back to life!

Not quite. Like when you go to the main text messaging screen it doesn't sort them under one sender. See the screenshot. It also adds that GSM thing to the end of the messages as you can see.

oh, ok. I thought the sms disable was not needed for the rom your on. 23506 I believe. I was under the impression texting worked fine on this release.

It works pretty well on 23506, but if you want to use MMS, say with Alltel or something via Arcsoft, you have to use the WM messaging client. The MMS with manila won't support Alltel right now so I was trying to use the WM client for the time being. Make any sense? lol

Ken ... the system build isn't as important to me, as stability and everything working as it should. You're the man up to his elbows in manila 2.5 ... is there one that plays better or just seems to lend itself to 2.5? Personally, whatever you chose, will work for me.

My personal opinion I love the 6.5.1 sys and i really dont have any issues. No email issues, HTC messaging client is a little slow but no crashes. I noticed its slow in bringing up the keyboard when you have a lot of text messages coz it takes time to load all them into the HTC messaging UI.
I just use the phone for making calls text and work email and maybe listen to music at the gym and the ROM is near perfect for me but i understand all user opinions matter and everybody will experience different issues.
