Re: 11-30 | ROM | WM 6.5 | TF3D 2.1 || GadgetROM v2.00 || 21874 | All CDMA Carriers

That's good. Should I wait for another ROM then? I haven't done anything with this one. If only I had some way to backup my PushMail accounts, haha. I dunno how good Samushushi or whatever is.

I've love to just use the Active Sync, but I still need to always type in my info every time I get a new ROM. I also have 3 pushmail accounts I setup because I use Gmail. I could technically use Active Sync for those too, but that doesn't solve the issue of needing to type the info in 3 times still. These are very long passwords.

You can use sashimi to back up your active sync settings and have it automatically install them after you flash or when you run it manually after you flash. If gadget's rom is not sashimi compliant, then you just go to /internal storage/sashimi/program/bin/ and click on sashimi.exe. You can search around here for how to use sashimi and it's pretty straight forward. There is also a website mostly about sashimi HERE. Makisu is the program you run to back up email accounts. It will create an .xml with all of your settings that sashimi installs when it runs.

GF - I noticed that the temp fix you mentioned for the name suggestion seems to change the reg keys under [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Layouts\e0010409] to "Ime File"="\\windows\\compime.dll"
"Layout text"="COMP IME"

The original setting lists: "Ime File"="\\windows\\eT9ime.dll"
"Layout Text"="eT9 IME"

I noticed that the eT9ime.dll is not listed under the windows folder. I sure you may know this already but I thought I would throw it out there.

Maybe a PM is best for that, but it's more of 'how' do I use Sashimi to back it up rather than having me go through all the video tutorials and trying to figure out this program for example. I don't have the time anymore to fumble around with non-user-friendly software. You could say I shouldn't be getting ROMs then, but then you could also say that I should just have kept my Sanyo M1 instead since it does everything this phone does and does them very easily for me. I switched for a multitude of reasons though and I'm looking for a ROM suitable to replace the default one that does everything I need so I can use my phone again. The RTSC one I was using was fantastic, but it's ancient now.

What do you want to do? There's lots of info on how to use sashimi on ppcgeeks. If you want to set up an email account, install sashimi to internal storage. Go to start menu, sashimi folder, and press on makisu icon. Click on email. Press OK. Select POP3 or IMAP or Exchange. Press OK. Name account. Press OK. Enter incoming server. Press OK. Enter smtp server. Press OK. Enter username. Press OK. Enter password. Press OK. Enter reply address. Press OK. Enter user name. Press OK. Choose SSL. Press OK. Choose advanced and follow prompts or just be done and add to xml and follow on screen prompts. This is just an example for an IMAP account, but it's pretty straight forward.

After you flash, sashimi should still be on your Internal Storage/SASHIMI folder. Navigate to \Internal Storage\SASHIMI\Program and run Sashimi.exe. It will then restore your email accounts. If you want to install cabs, put them in \Internal Storage\SASHIMI\Auto\CAB. If you want to install cabs to internal storage, put them in \Internal Storage\SASHIMI\Auto\CAB\SC. If you want to copy files to a directory on main memory, put them in \Internal Storage\SASHIMI\Auto\Root inside of whatever folder directory you want to be copied. If you want to restore registry settings you've exported, put them in \Internal Storage\SASHIMI\Auto\REG. There are DirHelp.txt's in each directory explaining how it works. It will take some time on your part initially, but you won't have to do anything except navigate to \Internal Storage\SASHIMI\Program and run Sashimi.exe once it's set up.
