Actually, the last ROM without the ringer problem was 1/28/10. Right before the update to Sense2.5.2012.

Anyone know how to edit this ROM to remove unwanted apps to increase memory? Even though it's a lite version, the memory is still extremely low.

Just put in the 2.1 LITE and ringer works fine. This is my wifes phone, and it's ok for her. The 2.5 left the Sprint with only 420k storage memory left. Thanks.

Search this thread for HTCrie. Also, look at riley5's FAQ post in the section about TF2.5 for tips on how to free up some memory for Sense2.5 ROMs:

Yeah, we're referring to the Sense2.5 ROMs that exhibit the problem...

I don't know how many people this will be feasible for, but since my vibrate alert doesn't work anymore I have used the twitter alert for the ring at work. This still works to ring the phone on the newest 21895 2.5 rom. It may just be that alerts work and not rings, I don't know.

What's with the root partition on this rom only being 42MB? Why wouldn't you make it much bigger?
Any way for me to do this myself? HTCrie doesn't seem to be able to...

Interesting. Can you clarify? So, you're saying if you choose "Ring type: ring" and "Ring tone: Alert-Twitter", the phone does ring? None of the Ring-xxxxx rings? Do any of the other Alert-xxxx also ring?

Thanks to your insight, I've figured out the ringer problem! It looks like only .wav files work as ringtones with these Sense2.5.2012 ROMs (.mp3 and .wma won't, even though they preview fine). I've converted my ringtones to .wav and now my phone rings/vibrats!

To convert wma/mp3 files to .wav, go to www.zamzar.com and you can upload the files. It'll email you a link when the conversion is done (free)

Since the .wav files are large, you'll want to put your ringtones on \Internal Storage\My Documents\My Ringtones. The phone will find them automatically.

THANKS NRG FOR THE ROM...it's awesome!
