As far as the kitchen, you can change the startup animation by replacing the "HTCAnimationStartup.gif" in the "OEM\System - Startup Animation" folder. Remember that this is an animated gif.

For the splash screen itself, replace the "welcomehead.192.png" in the "SYS\Redist_dpi_resh_480_resv_640" folder. Make sure that the replacement is 480x640.

last week i tried some 6.5 roms and it totally messed my phone up until i loaded up the sprint stock rom again and it settled down. Is there any steps i can take to make sure that this will work fine on my phone? OR is anyone having this issue as well?

Using a tsk is much easier.

You can edit .tsk files with wince cab manager.

Next question, what folder in the kitchen do i drop the .tsk file? just made one with ThemeGenCE (thx (V)eGa for the walk through!) and want it to show up automatically as the default....

and how do I edit or create a theme for manila? thanks for the help!
