Re: WM6.5 Ultralite - CE OS 5.2.21728 (Build 21728.5.0.2) - v.602 [ROM & Kitchen]

I tried and really liked this rom except Titanium Weather didn't work for the detalied page because it was missing MSN Weather.

Any idea how to get a CAB?

Also, is there a way to skin the keyboard to the original white with black letters? It was much easier for me to look at.

Thanks.

Re: WM6.5 Ultralite - CE OS 5.2.21728 (Build 21728.5.0.2) - v.602 [ROM & Kitchen]

I decided to go back to 21728 for this kitchen.

I tried just copying indagroove's 21731 SYS and ROM folders (by the way, do I need his ROM folder or can I just use yours?) but the resulting ROM was substantially bigger than the ones I build using your SYS (or is it the ROM??).

Don't get me wrong, I love indagrooves kitchens and ROMs but I guess you have spoiled me. Any plans to update?

I have run my phone (mild use) off of the charger today since 8AM and it is still at 90%. Exceptional battery life!!

Re: WM6.5 Ultralite - CE OS 5.2.21728 (Build 21728.5.0.2) - v.602 [ROM & Kitchen]

Hey watzone,

Our kitchens are pretty interchangeable. You can use probabally use the Ultralight 21728 rom folder with my 21730 sys, but it won't give you a pure 21731 build. It would look something like this:

CE OS 5.2.21728 (Build 21731.5.0.2)

instead of this:

CE OS 5.2.21731 (Build 21731.5.0.2)

You can lighten my sys by just deleting the unwanted folders from the sys. Just put both sys folders side by side, and that will give you an idea of the differences, and what is safe to delete. One thing is though, that you may wanna copy the mobile calculator version from an ultralite sys over if you like that black calculator better than the default. Either way it will work.

Thanks indagroove.

I wasn't sure if I could just delete SYS files or not but using this one as a go by is a great tip. Is there any kind of compressio on these files?

Nope, they're uncompressed.

Download indagroove's latest kitchen and use that sys. He has done a great job of weeding out a lot of the junk. You may want to use the side by side method discussed in the posts above.

For splash screen info go here:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...+mobile+splash

As far as the kitchen, you can change the startup animation by replacing the "HTCAnimationStartup.gif" in the "OEM\System - Startup Animation" folder. Remember that this is an animated gif.

For the splash screen itself, replace the "welcomehead.192.png" in the "SYS\Redist_dpi_resh_480_resv_640" folder. Make sure that the replacement is 480x640.

The very first boot screen is another can of worms! Go here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431161

Good luck!

Sorry Cap'n for the temporary thread hijack.
