is this self-explanatory - and I can just use different tf3c themes and toggle or do I need to know stuff to use it (editing the registry etc...)

Shorty - since I have no cricket rom you'll need to get the generic rom then install the dcd carrier cab for cricket. Here's a link to the dcd carrier cabs - http://dcd1182.n715dp.com/index.php?dir=carriers

I think it will just work like one cooked into the rom, so however you would change themes before will be the same with this one too.

Ive been reading through all of this because I really want to flash a 6.5 rom on my phone. I tried a few days ago (first time flashing anything) with a different rom and it didnt work at all. I couldnt make a phone call then the keyboard kept popping up and was in a loop saying it was launching tflo3d. I then rebooted and it got stuck on the boot screen. I then flashed a stock alltel rom and now it is working again. I have Ntelos as a carrier I dont know if that matters or not. But my real question is I have been reading and i saw a lot about people using different "kitchens" and different "sys". I dont know if that is something i need to do also or if I download this rom and flash it is that all I have to do? should everything work after the flash. Sory for the stupid questions i am new to this and dont fully understand it all right now. When i flashed it the other day it was a real learning experience though. Any tips would help me. thanks

Ntelos? According to their about page they are tied to Sprint/Nextel (http://www.ntelos.com/about/about.html) so I would guess that a sprint rom might work best. Did your phone come with picture messaging? You could also try a generic rom I guess...Either way you will need to manually enter the settings for Ntelos since their is no carrier cab for them. Edit: after readig this thread I would say you should get the generic rom (of whatever custom rom you're thinking of using).
1 - Unlock your phone (I'm assuming you've already done this)
2 - Run EPST from the windows directory and write down all the settings. Since you've already flashed your phone you might try to get this info off a friend's pocket pc phone.
3 - Flash your phone with the generic rom you downloaded.
4 - Run EPST and set all the info again - I just tried to run epst on my 6.5 rom (to see if there is info in there unique to each phone) and found out it doesn't run...

Edit 2: after installing my dcd carrier cab the EPST is working...

Thank you very much for looking into this. I will read up and maybe give it another shot. I do have picture messaging. After it is done flashing the rom and it boots up, should I stop it when it tries to run the customization cabs?
