Trying to update Rom Cant Connect to phone?

I have followed the direction to the letter. everything has been downloaded

I tried to unlock the phone but i dont think i locked it last time i did this a long time ago but when i try to unlock or do the rom updat utility to install the new rom i keep getting that its not connected.

Windows mobile for some reason wont see it but the computer will know there is a device pluged in and i can acces the phone by selecting the disk sawp option

any helps thanxs

Are you running vista, windows 7 or xp?

And is it connected via syc? Start>settings>connections>usb to pc > active sync

I just checked the drivers and the mass storage controler needed to be updated i did that but still dosent connect running vista

Okay. Mass Storage driver would be the driver for a disk drive. So are you sure your phone is connected via sync rather than disk drive?

when u plug it in it comes up with connect via active sync/disk drive/or modem i have tried all of them

still cant get it to read in windows mobile

It should be in Sync. I believe this is the pc's fault... Have you ever had it successfully connected before? If so what has changed since?

wow so i had to copy the RUU folder to the internal storage of the phone rn the boot loader FROM the phone then run the RUU update utility from the comp

pretty sure thats not right any thoughts as to y i had to do that

No.. that's weird. Maybe U had to manually go to bootloader? If thats what you did... Sorry didnt understand the "rn the boot loader FROM the phone" ?

if u have just hard reset your phone, you have to wait until you reach the screen that says tap the screen to begin. other than that, make sure your pets haven't chewed up your wires and you have the correct, compatible sync software with your os. i use 64 mobile center, you can use active sync.

if you're running vista, you need WMDC to sync - http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...ce-center.mspx

make sure it's installed, and then open it while the phone is plugged in.

if that doesn't work you can flash from the bootloader screen.

if you wanna flash from the internal storage, i suggest reading a little more. you need to take the "RUU_Signed.nbh" from the RUU folder, place it in the root directory of the Internal Storage, and then rename it DIAMIMG.nbh (i believe, not sure though, do a search) and then hard-reset to flash the ROM.
