Re: Trying to update Rom Cant Connect to phone?

I think from the following quote that they already fixed it, but were just looking for an explanation as to why they had to do it this specific way.

Re: Trying to update Rom Cant Connect to phone?

bottom line vista sucks with the mobile center or whatever , if you need to update the rom take the back cover off and do the following in order:
hit the power and hold
press volume down and hold
press the arrow key above "reject call" button
with all held down at the same time manage to get the stylus in the rest button on the back of the phone"you might need someones help if you have never done it before.

you will get to the " bootloader tricolor screen" it should say "serial" on the buttom
connect it to your pc and the serial should change to "USB" when it happens just flash like you would flash with activesync or mobile center manager

another way to do it is "flashing from the internal storage" search for it

No problems flashing from Windows 7 myself, which is basically the Vista kernel without the BS and problems Vista has.

Re: Trying to update Rom Cant Connect to phone?

I have problems with my vista pc connecting to my phone too. I usually have to reboot if it is not detecting it. My pc will say that its connected but WMDC will not show that its connected. Lame, but works eventually.

Re: Trying to update Rom Cant Connect to phone?

Try reinstalling WMDC. I know on my old install I actually had to force the AS 4.5 drivers from XP x64 onto Vista to get flashing to work. My new one oddly worked out of the box when I formatted Vista.
