Thanks for all the information..i think I was getting a little over my head with the SYS and XIP stuff, although I do have a lot of computer knowledge and I do hope to get to that level someday. So for now i'll start with the basic stuff.. Thanks again!

It hasn't been mentioned, so I'll mention it: Use PPCkitchen. Why reinvent the wheel? There is little point in 40 people dumping the same roms - it's very mechanical.

And, of course, do yourself a favor - don't start off using the antiquated tools in bepe v1 and v2 kitchens.
