Looking for a new radio...
Hey everybody,
I've been using my CDMA Telus Diamond with a stock ROM for the past week and I'm not too sure if I should upgrade the radio or not; So far the only radios I've seen appear to be for GSM phones, I'm not sure if they're cross-compatible or not. [link] I'm looking for some input here, anyone try these radios out on a CDMA (Telus/Sprint) phone and have a success story? Currently I'm on what appears to be a beta radio version (0.99.90V - SS attached) Thanks! |

Re: Looking for a new radio...
I wish I could go back to the telus stock radio. They dont have a way for you to revert to your old radio yet.. so if you have any problems you cant bring your handset in for warranty work. just a heads up.

Re: Looking for a new radio...
Well, find me a way to rip the current radio to a file and I'll do it. I'm just mildly concerned that it's a beta version.

Re: Looking for a new radio...
I don't think its quite that easy. Are you sure the stock Telus radio isn't posted for you Telus guys? I know the stock Sprint one was...

Re: Looking for a new radio...
Yeah, according to Juggalo_X its a lot more complicated. I have been checking this thread, which I assume is the consolidated radio rom thread and have posted a few times inquiring about the Telus radio http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=40609 . I think that because there is no benefit for anyone to flash to the Telus radio, nobody has bothered to make it yet..

Re: Looking for a new radio...
I've already swapped up to a Sprint radio and it's working beautifully; In my work, where I ususally see 0 bars (but never drop signal) I'm now seeing 2-3 bars. I'm also (oddly enough) seeing an increase in battery life. Thanks for the advice!
