I have not seen this issue, but I'm not a heavy texter either.

P.S. The new HD skins are interesting; but now that I've left them I find that I really don't miss them. With Voice Command I almost never really use the People tab and Ticker Tape rules over the Stock tab.

that's odd...I have 5 pop3 accounts that check every 30min, plus OTA Exchange Push, battery lasts all day easily.

cool...the SE version is virtually the same as customv2 with the exception of some changed manila files.

I havent tried the HD manila yet, but if it's as good as I'm hearing, I may need to cook up a rom w/ it included.

I'm having the same problem with texts. I also have a problem when I attempt to type a message, I have to open and close the keyboard a few times before being able to start typing a text.

I have also noticed this with texting as well. Sometimes the first word will not show up the first time I type it out. And the text notifications still shows that I have unread messages. Hmm.... I'm not encountering any of these problems. I generally don't use T9 if that's an issue. And my text messages are not threaded.

OK, here's the deal with the unread texts. To clear the unread texts icon, you have to move to the unread message using TF3D. Then it will clear. A pain imo, but that's how it seems to work.

The problem with the keyboard. If you open a message and just try to type, the text box has not been selected so it will seem as the first word you typed did not register. So what I do is open the keyboard, then tap the text box to insure it's selected, then finally start typing. Definitely another annoyance that did not exist on my Touch. Not sure how that got into the Diamond.

Does anybody know how to make a new text pop up in a box when it arrives? I liked that feature very much when I had my Touch.

If anyone is interested in upgrading your Google Maps to the latest version, 3.0.0.2, I have modified the cab, so that it will overwrite the files in the rom, and will not create a duplicate shortcut.

What kind of data and tethering speeds have you guys been getting with this ROM? Everytime I test I'm between 400-500kbps down and 150-200kbps up. That seems really slow compared to what everyone else seems to be getting (2500 down, 500 up). Just wondering if it's my phone or the ROM somehow. I've changed the radio several times with the same results on all of the.

I am liking this Rom so far and haven't encountered any issues, I don't text much either so I haven't noticed the text problem. And that new Google Maps is cool. Thanks for your hard work.

Well, I'm doomed for disappointment, since I prefer the transparent slider. Nonetheless, I might be willing to give HD manila a try if available. FYI I generally try to avoid Sprint neon.

I just noticed something, by the way. I'm using the 2.0 custom SE, and when I'm on the mail tab the Menu soft key doesn't pop up with a menu. I can't even remember what it's supposed to offer; but I just wanted to let you know.

I typically get 800-1200 "down", and 400 or so "up" ...

it's most likely due to one of the replacement manila files.... I really like the look of the SE rom, but it just has too many bugs.....I wouldnt be cooking that version if noone requested.

I'll have to test this, as I dont tether much, and I dont get evdo @ home.....are you sure you are in a Rev A area? How is your signal strength? The worse your signal the worse the speed.

Actually, unless I've overlooked something, this is the only bug I've encountered. And it's not a very serious one. Am I just lucky or is there something I should be on the lookout for?

I just updated to the custom Icon version 2...
and I can't figure out how to change the back ground.
I tried Settings, today, use picture as the background... no luck..
Any help is appreciated.

Just navigate to the Settings tab on TF3D, click on Wallpaper, and :thumbleft:

Good evening everyone. I have been asked by old_man_jenkins to inform everyone that he will not be posting for a while. There has been a death in the family.

OMJ's roms are great and if you guys can help each other out with any issues/questions, that would be helpfull. And if you guys need further help, pm me. I learned from omj's roms and we have similiar styles. I'll be monitoring the thread for any important issues.

Everyone should include old_man_jenkins in their thoughts and prayers, and I'm sure he'll be back soon enough!

hey if i falsh to a new rom will that erase my texts??? and if so where is the text folder so i can copy it to my pc?? thanks

Yes it will erase your text if you flash. Use dotfred PIMBackup (Download) to backup your text and contacts to \Internal Storage. Then use the same to restore them. Make sure you select \internal storage when saving them!
