An old issue (that really shouldn't be happening with these new ROMs)... Clearing you Outbox might help temporarily, but to fix this permanently you're going to have to do a hard reset using Clear Storage [1234;YES].
If you're feeling really motivated, flash to shipped and then re-flash, but the important part is running Clear Storage on main memory (NOT Internal Storage). You can find it in Settings;System.

You need to replace them in the sys folder ...

Look for a folder/file called HTCAnimation.gif. The folder might be called Startup Animation or something like that.
I assume you're talking about doing it in the kitchen- it can't be done once the ROM is flashed.

It's in the EXT folder under shared.
